No, he is being actively supported as a fraud and tax cheat.

It really is a cult with his base and most Republicans.

True (Booth did shout something about "Tyrants" the "South is avenged"), but I think the "historical perspective" on this one is pretty clear.

Yeah, it's always those libertarians with an axe to grind because they can't enslave like they used to. They really have no moral compass, best kill as many of them as possible until the rest fall in line.

Falwell recently advocated extending Trump's term by two years. On a superficial level perhaps Cohen is reacting to that by causing problems for Falwell?

It was actually Les Moonves. He wasn't a producer, he was their CEO.

And a year later, out of that job after a couple decades of routine sexual harassment finally caught up with him.

When I was in Memphis a few years ago, and the Grizz when on their playoff run, almost everybody (and I do mean almost everybody) was excited and talking about it.
Now that the Bucks are on their run, here in Milwaukee the excitement is far less.
Of course, this is right at the start of the baseball season...

I'm actually reading Tuchman right now, but don't more than a few historians think things would've kicked off pretty soon even the Black Hand hadn't initiated events that led eventually to the forming of a mediocre Scottish indie band? Germany was itching to flex its muscles in Europe and France was itching to take back Alsace-Lorraine and dole out a little payback for the humiliation of 1870.

No, but if the President becomes a dictator, then all bets are off — that’s what he’s talking about. It’s about what comes next if/when he’s finally corrupted the country and the political system to the point the Constitution is irrelevant and he becomes completely illegitimate.

I don’t think that will happen. If he loses the next election, I’m confident he will go — maybe whining, but the constitutional system will prevail.

If Trump were to became a Maduro or Mugabe, then all bets are off, and maybe you’d be just fine with it. Knock yourself out, you sheep. You’ll get what you deserve.

    Which is a shame.

If it happened more often, prospective tyrants might think twice about their career plans.

With the use of "Tyranny", he comes off more like a John Wilkes Booth fangirl. That's the Occam's Razor conclusion anyways, given his posting history. Typical centrist stuff- You're probably reading too much into it.

As I have already said — I don’t see it happening, but if it were to happen that’s one way I can see the scenario developing.

And let’s be clear — nobody is posting that they support assassination as a way to prevent a legitimate President from exercising his malodorous policies.

Speculation about what some people might do if we came under the control of a Mugabe or Hitler or whoever — is, first and foremost speculation — but it is also a legitimate response to oppression.

Who here wouldn’t cheer if some North Korean citizen popped a cap in Kim Jong Un?

This is a reminder to those who casually throw stuff like this around that those sorts of "2nd Amendment solutions" generally involve shooting and killing fellow countrymen who generally aren't the target of one's ire... which is the reason almost nobody goes for them and why I generally don't think much of them.
