Its really stupid, when you allow players to get into your head like that you put a target on your back, they are going to try and go at you to get you sent off.

I'm gonna say that he simply cannot play for Colombia until he fixes his temperament. For a forward to get stupid red cards like that is unacceptable, he has 5 red cards this year and he's not good enough that its worth taking a risk on someone like that. Don't even call him until he learns to manage his temper and stay focused on the game, or call him and lecture him and leave him on the bench.

I don't know if I would go that far as to not to call him but it is on the back of my mind to hesitate calling him up for the Copa. Imagining him going up against Chile or Uruguay in a second round match up makes me cringe because we all know those guys will try to push his buttons.

That said, with Borja and Santos Borre on cold streaks who is left? Bacca? Not sure I want to see him on the roster either.
It is going to be very interesting to see how it all turns out.

Getting red cards kills you, he has to be a lot better then other options to take that risk imo. I'd look at Cucho but not sure that will happen if they have him ear marked for the U-20. Duvan/Falcao/Muriel would probably be enough cover and yeah I'd bring in Bacca if necessary. If we want to do anything we need players who are disciplined, you can create change by sending the message now that you can't condone stupid retaliation red cards. He let his team down in its biggest game for selfish egotistical reasons, that type of behavior is a team killer.

********ing retard. I mean, really, which Premier League team or Italian team would want a player that Will miss 30% of the games and not because injury but out of pure idiocy?

I pretty much agree with everything said here. Especially the Cucho comment.

I just wonder if Morelos can be one of those cases where he does things for Club but behaves better for the National team. Someone like Cardona who for the most part under Pekerman behaved other than the Korean gesture incident. But for club teams had many dumb yellows and red cards.
however, the risk as you say may not be worth it. Especially if one of those other three strikers I mentioned get hot before June.

What are the other teams doing to provoke him?

They grabbing his ass or calling him a N-Bomb? Throwing bananas at him?

The Celtic player is a complete a-hole for behaving like that but Morelos is the idiot.

:) was watching the Liverpool vs Tottneham game yesterday with some friends and they said how much they liked it because of no flapping. In the UK unless you get shot or kicked in the face a ref doesn’t call the foul so no point in diving.

Tho in the Man U game they did dive a bit

Character of a player matters. If he does it for club you have to consider they have that immaturity in them. South American qualifiers are always going to test you, and we need players who won't react stupidly when things are heated, he's still young so hopefully he learns but 5 red cards as a stiker in one year is a real problem.

We are on the same wavelength.
Some managers have their own ways of approaching these club disciplinary issues though.

Let's see how this plays out.

Really admire Gerrard on this one!

"Dependíamos demasiado de Alfredo, pero ya no. Me sorprende el momento de Jermain Defoe. Tiene una calidad increíble y si llegas a tener un sistema que se adapte a sus condiciones, él te dará goles. Tiene el dorsal '9' ahora mismo y será interesante la forma en cómo se desempeñará hasta el final de la temporada", comentó Gerrard

”Alfie” is now back from his ban and played 15 mins. I didn't see how did he do.

^humo..... how can he play CL when SPL only gives 1 spot (Champions) the CL ticket. Next year's CL team will be Celtic so unless he's switching colors, he's back at Europa League/

It's not such a serious thing but Morelos just came back after from a long ban. He also received a yellow card for that. I'm sure Gerrard wasn't happy with it. Also, Ronaldo is a unique case. He can rape women and not pay taxes and still be on the cover of FIFA video game.

This is why Queiroz wanted him out of the squad. Too bad, he must avoid these kind of acts.
