Check closely... his shirt is different too so they are likely NOT from the same party. I can't be positive if it's the same girl, but it's possible (I'm not going to zoom in and see if I can tell for sure). But the girl isn't wearing the same shirt in both photos (the dancing girl's shirt is obviously more form fitting).
The girl with the black dress may be a waitress. And is the girl Clint dancing with holding a cigarette? The place looks like a club.
Sorry to hijack this a little bit and perhaps I missed this discussed, but is there really going to be a transfer fee involved? That would be absolutley ridiculous, Hannover should be happy to simply get Mathis' wages off their books in this transfer market. Shouldn't be much leverage for the club considering he's had a fairly publicized falling out with the manager. If MLS actually does end up spending "the low six figures" for him as has been rumored I will be quite disapointed, and a bit concerned about the competency for whoever is doing the negotiating for MLS.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit So let me get this straight. After all the bonehead moves MLS has done THIS will be the deal that makes you question the competency of the NY politburo? :shakeshead:
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit What makes you think Hannover is getting Mathis off their books? He still has a contract with them. Unless they void the contract by mutual consent and he gets a new contract with MLS (which isn't the case because then they wouldnt be able to demand a transfer fee for him), or they buyout his contract from him, in which case the transfer fee goes towards that buyout payment.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit Yes he has a contract with them... but when you have a player that once played a pretty significant role on your team but now isn't even seledted for the gameday roster... that sends a pretty clear message they have few to no plans for said player. In this type of situation, very often the player is allowed to leave for free. This way the player gets off the books and you're no longer paying tens of thousands of pounds each week in salary for him. It's often hard to demand a transfer fee when other teams no you don't have use for the player. In the states, many people (I'm not saying you) forget something about the transfer process. In our sports, we say someone signed a 3 year contract for $20 Million - which means he'll make 20 million in salary over the 3 years of the contract. In the world of European football, if a player is bought for $10M, that's just the price of the contract. There is also a salary for the player and that's what Hannover would probably like to get off their books.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit I understand all this. But they'd also need to void Clints contract (to get him off the books) with Clints approval in a free transfer. I doubt Clint is going to agree to that. So odds are Hannover is NOT putting him on free transfer, but buying out his contract, then demanding a fee to cover some of that loss.
Mathis is the one who wants to get out of the contract. He wants to go home. Therefore he or the club that signs him have to pay to get out of contract.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit When a player is transfered they first agree personal terms with the new team then the new teams pays the old teams price to relaese him from his contract. They don't actual buy the contract. He will not be making the same money he made in germany in MLS. They will be tottally seperate contracts. He will be taking a pay cut just to get the hell out of there.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit OK, I was going on the assumption that Clint wanted out of Hannover just as much as the team does. If Clint is happy collecting a paycheck in Hannover without having to play ... you're right, it changes the dynamics of a deal dramatically.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit Understood. See Wahoos reply above for my view of it.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit No one can buy out a contract and then demand a fee. If there is a player who’s happy to sit and collect the money than the club could propose to pay him a part of the money he has left on the contract and in return give him free hands.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit Can they ask for a fee with an agreement that they'll buy out a players contract? His contract w/Hannover hasn't been bought out or voided yet, as far as we know.
Re: Article from Hannover paper - Mathis gone in four days, 95% to Real Salt Lake Cit A bit OT, but in German clubs (the first pic looks more its from a sports bar during or after a 96 game, definetly not a club - and the girl has way to much make up on!) smoking is very very allowed (they have to have really good air conditioning anyways...)
