Salloi out puts an unpleasant dent in this game. Either we're running on very tired legs or our offense is gonna contain a surprise youth guest, haha.
Will be interesting to see what the lineup looks like with the long break coming up. I'm heading out there with the family to our first road trip! Can't wait!
I feel differently about this match than those to this point. I know folks are tired after Thursday night, but they were at home, and by SKC standards this is a short trip, and we don't have a midweek or even a game next weekend. I wouldn't mind seeing a Busio or Lindsey, but I think most folks will be ready and wanting to play. As an aside, while this is a short trip for SKC, it is longer than the longest trip possible for Bundesliga play (Bremen to Munich, which is just about 500 miles, v the 600 from KC to Denver). Also, having just visited Bremen, I should note that a road trip here is a different animal. The roads are perfect (they put up warning signs of road distress when they reach the level of I-70) and I spent long stretches at 120 mph (technically, the road speed limit was unlimited, but my rental car wasn't that fast. That said, once rented a legit auto and found it really terrifying to find that when I was blasting along at 170 I was passed by a regular procession of Porsche's, Lambo's and Ferraris, and then had a blowout (amazing car, though, didn't even really feel it but could sure hear it).
The guys will be be a bit weary if PV fields a best 11 group. But, the altitude shouldn’t be an issue (after training for Toluca) and there is no snow in the forecast even though it will be in the 30’s at game time. I think they have enough in the tank to beat Colorado and then get a well deserved rest.
But, but, but... Players 14-17 need some actual competitive minutes as a member of the first side and not as the second string. I'm not a fan of doing a line change between games; I'd rather there be some integration.
Who would 14-17 be? I'm assuming it's four from Busio, Lindsey, Croizet, Wallace and Rowe, as 12 is probably Salloi (though out, so maybe he's off the depth chart) and 13 is Barath, who will almost certainly start again?
Start Rowe or Busio for one of the midfielders, start Croizet in the spot you were going to start Salloi, Russell or Gerso on the other wing, Hurtado up top. Keep much of the rest the same.
You know, Rwat has been on the bench for the last two games. This says on one level, he's moved ahead of Smith, which doesn't say much about his first team prospects. but it might. I think we might see him stepping in for Besler, if Besler doesn't show to be fully recovered on the tests they're running right now.
Lindsey is a quality young player, and Zusi will be needed in August, sept, Oct. And we are paying Wallace more than Seth, maybe he sees some time. But I agree with the notion of integration instead of a second 11 this time out. I am hoping that tops, it's 4 new players.

A point is better than no points...especially considering the schedule right now. Barath has been quite a pleasant surprise. Makes me feel a lot better about CB depth assuming fontas is back soon. Rowe has not impressed me much yet, but I guess wing really isn't his normal spot (classic vermes move). I really really wish Gerso had something to offer other than speed. He gets into so many dangerous spots and screws them up in so many spectacular and bizarre ways. Zusi has worried me so far this season. Lots of dumb defensive mistakes (granted the goal was at least half Tim's fault too), and doesn't seem to be as useful in attack either. Not sure when Lindsay gets his shot... Happy to see all three subs used, and not right at the end of the game. Hopefully we can see some rotation on the backline soon too.
That was a strange game to watch. A lot of the time it was a very un-SKC like performance in the first half when they were launching a lot of route one air balls out of the back to the offensive third only to lose the ball to a defender. It was kind of like dejavú sitting in Community America Park and watching the Wizards. Rowe was playing out of position and it showed; he was mostly ineffective all night. Zusi has also been sputtering lately. I love Gerso’s hustle, but he needs to either shoot or lay the ball off sooner. He dribbles too long and loses the ball. The Audi index doesn’t indicate a great performance, but Seth put in another great shift. They guy is just solid all the time. It looked like the whole team was out of sync and made the game very frustrating to watch. Props to Rubio for reading the short pass out of the back and catching Melia napping. He saved a point for the Rapids. I always enjoyed Kamara when he was in KC, but now he just needs to retire.
Thank god the team has a rest now. I think with some actual full weeks of rest between games, in theory, the team will start to really gel and show their quality in league games.
Barath very good. Rowe mostly invisible. I’m confused exactly what our approach to this game was. I thought some of the interactions with Zusi, Kamara, Rubio, and Feilhaber were interesting. I don’t think there was a lot in any of it, but interesting nonetheless. I think it’s more fun jawing against old teammates, just my opinion. Last, I just want to compliment the posters on this thread. Not one mention of unwritten rules about goal celebration.
I didn't see the match. Did Rubio celebrate? He should have. Guy worked really hard and bided his time here and was never rewarded for it. Was benched behind Khiry Shelton in what should have been his breakout season. I'm happy if he's happy. If he muted his celebration instead, I could understand that as well. He may still have good friends among the team.
