Tactical shift sees change in Revs’ approach, “but the philosophy is still the same” March 13, 2019, 4:23PM EDT Jeff Lemieux Caicedos | Luis nearing 90-minutes fitness, Juan Fernando close to full health March 14, 2019, 10:00AM EDT Elizabeth Pehota
Interesting articles - well done to Jeff and Elizabeth. Friedel will be judged on this "tactical shift" - both short and long term. As other coaches and players watch tape and read stuff like this - they will start making plans to exploit it. Also, off top of my head - I think the Revs benefited last year based on MLS schedule and international callups that weakened opponents. Not this 1st one - playing Toronto ahead of window - then they play Cincy in the middle of the window (don't know if they will lose anyone based on their roster), but it is an expansion team. Then any Minnesota players(Quintero?) will be back by the time Revs play them.
Getting a game ahead but ... Rennicks, Herivaux, Somi all unavailable for the March 24 game vs. FC Cincinnati.Of particular note, Rennicks will feature for the U.S. U20s in their final two friendly matches before the FIFA U-20 World Cup begins in late May. #NERevs https://t.co/lOxypwraUD— Jeff Lemieux (@jeff_lemieux) March 14, 2019
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz Im sorry but we are terrible and unless we get some other players (haha) I cannot see us making the playoffs
Leave Teal on the right side and feed him until that defender gets carded out of the game. He can not handle Teal tonight.
Chippy game. Brad should think about subbing out Gil or Zahibo. I like Scotty, really good player but he is slow. This Game seems too fast for him.
Normally I would agree with the Juan for Diego sub but with Gil, zahibo and Delemea with cards not sure I would make that sub
Great ball by Bradley on that last goal but where in the world were the defenders? Bye and Castillo were way up field
Mariner notes Friedel was telling his team to play a higher line. Revs pushed up. Right after that, Bradley delivered that ball...
the pass was only good because Casillo was in a different time zone. My take on this team is not good. The defense is still weak, the midfield seems ... I dont know what... nothing special I guess, We have no real scoring danger. Teal works hard but just jsnt good enough anymore . Diego is not a forward.... Juan seems invisible. This was not a hard team and we still couldnt handle them. Bradley jogs around night and gets away it. I watched Cinn destroy Portland today. We have a problem coming up I see no solution for this mess. We dont have enough good players and Burns will never sign enough. We sign people and they are average to poor. They leave here and they look like start. Something is very wrong
IMHO - watching over the past 3 years Diego’s original naturally brilliant talents dragged down by commitment to playing on a team with inferior team play, individual play and coaching. It is sad to watch because his younger natural talents were clearly outstanding.
Feldman and Mariner trying to find anything positive to say in the post game wrapup. When they show the stats all in Toronto’s favor, brad says that doesn’t really tell the story. Mariner ends by fumbling his words saying, fans come, support this team because they are trying their socks off to get this team on track. They showed the scores around the league but no table. Revs in 11th out of 12.
Was there no card on the tackle that took Bunbury down in the box that led to the PK? Like so many of the ref's calls today... why?
