All the talk will focus on Ronaldo and Juve but Athleti were frankly miserable in this match. In a situation where a goal will almost 100% see you through they hardly strung five passes together at any point and didn't create a single dangerous situation on the counter that I can remember. They are always defensively resolute and they will feel disappointed to concede off a couple crosses and a cheap penalty but this was a completely incoherent performance.
Lets hope Bayern Lyon eliminates Pool and Barca tomorrow night.Ronaldo with the cojones celebration in the end.
They really missed their best DCM in Partey, especially defensively. But yes, Simeone's gameplan was way too timid and very passive. They had good spells of possession at times in each half, but they created nothing in terms of real danger, with Morata and Griezmann left completely isolated. Griez can sit down though with the claims that he was robbed at the Ballon D'Or. Completely invisible today when he would have been counted upon to do something, anything to help his team despite the negative tactics.
Partey was a big miss for sure but you'd still expect them to be able to find some counter attacking opportunities. From almost the first moment Griez in particular was tracking back to the edge of his own penalty box and Morata was just way too isolated. They were always going to be conservative but they're usually a very effective counter-attacking team and this was pretty pitiful.
I agree. It was shocking actually how their counter attacking game was not only not effective, but completely non existent today, when it's usually a strength of theirs. I figured that Juve were going to make a big push for it, but it was way easier than it should have been for them. Atleti really should have make their work harder, especially once the tempo of the game slowed midway thru the first half. They really bottled it today in that aspect and never gave themselves a real shot at this.
Diego Costa was also missed, difff animal to deal altogether and a fighter aswell. 1105598726054264834 is not a valid tweet id
Diego Costa has been terrible this season, if we're being honest. And under today's circumstances, he probably would not have fared much better either. The reason he's not playing after all is because he's been completely ineffective this season. He only has 4 goals in all comps this season.
Griezmann knows Atletico Madrid f***ed up! 🤬 pic.twitter.com/yVnKI6lUt0— GOAL (@goal) March 12, 2019 Nowhere to hide for Griez, he (along with Atleti as a whole) really wet the bed today.
Griez is exactly where he belongs, as the big fish in a small pond. He doesn't strike me mentally as the type of guy that would take the pressure of being the go to guy on a big team.
Yeah, probably. But hey, Kobe Bryant basically admitted it, and people still worship him. It's like I live in a bizarro world where we have been told this man potentially raped a woman and all people talk about on the news is him playing. As if it is the most important thing. For a guy I own the shirt of, It is scary how little reaction I had to today.
One can be a publically known and self admitted sexual predator and still get elected as the most powerful man in the most powerful country in the world. It's truly ********ed up.
That's why the criminal case got dropped and they found the semen of 7, or 11, different guys in her panties. Civil suits require almost no proof, it's all claim, and that's why she got paid. Kobe was innocent of rape, guilty of being a slime ball who cheated on his wife. It sounds similar to what's going on with Ronaldo. If she had been raped, then she would have gone after criminal charges no matter what. But she easily backed down for money. Stick to your convictions or shut up. If you're easy to be bought, then you're not showing that you're firm in your convictions.
Where do you want to play Dybala? Sancho, CM and CB for me. If we don't get a CB that's fine. Save up for a mega target.
I would take Sancho, dont think we have the luxury to buy 2 RWF as we need enforcement at CB RW and CM aswell.
That's was actually very interesting. PSG are obviously a very hip club that can be attractive to younger fans. They can buy pretty much everything (except class based on how they reacted to their CL exit again) and I think they're getting pieces in place slowly but surely. Tuchel IMO is a big one: seems like a very interesting person and football coach. Will be interesting to see how long it will be before they finally breakthrough in Europe though.
