That's great news. I'm paying $10 month for sling (service and reliability is amazing) just for bein after DirecTV dropped them. Def gonna switch to fanatiz and get HD Goltv and Argentina/Colombian league (sorry Bolivar) for same price. 1.) How is quality of streams on fanatiz? I would say sling is more or less flawless. 2.) Are the Argentinian games all straight Spanish feeds, or is there sometimes English feed options?
Great news. Of course, you have me to thank for this happening given that I broke down and bought the year subscription to SlingTV last week just to get connect not through the BeIN app.
One thing to keep in mind is that with Sling you have a DVR option ($5 extra). Talking to Fanatiz, it sounds like they may have some VOD (Video On Demand) for GOL-TV matches but it's questionable for beIN. If you mainly watch live like I do, Fanatiz is a better option since you get more than just beIN. But the answer to what is better for you truly depends on how you watch the matches. Fanatiz streams are solid except for the Colombian League. Very disappointed they took te NuestraTele feed which is in bad SD. Feeds from RCN/Colombia are in better quality. Argentinian games in Spanish only (not confirmed). SA www.soccertvblog.com
The quality is the same. I have Fubo, Sling and Fanatiz and just did a comparison and couldn’t tell any difference in the quality. If forced to say, I’d say that Fanatiz and Fubo were slightly sharper, but I can’t really say that with any confidence. The two things better about Sling is that (1) you have to log in to Fanatiz every time you switch to a different device and (2) Sling gives you the choice between starting at the beginning or going live when you click on a game. They did have an issue a few months back for the last superliga superclasico. Their service was slammed and the game could not be accessed until the second half. As far as argentine games, they are all in Spanish.
I know GOL-TV does not have rights to the Regional Championships going on now (Paulista, Carioca, etc.). GOL-TV did have Brazilian League rights last year but not sure if that was a multi-year deal or a year-to-year deal. The League starts up at the end of April this year. If you are a fan of ALL Brazilian football, your best bet is PFC (Premiere FC). It's available on many providers like Dish/Sling; DirecTV; Comcast, etc. Often in a Brazilian package at $15-$20 bucks or even a la carte. They do show every competition from the Brasileirao, Copa do Brasil, Paulista, Carioca, Gaucho and other regional tournaments. One little know fact (at least I haven't seen people talking about it) is that FoxSoccer-Plus has Copa do Brasil coverage. Usually 2 matches midweek. I have a page dedicated to Brazilian football on US TV at http://soccertvblog.com/brazil-tv/ SA
The Brazilian Soccer Federation is in negotiations with a content distributor for world wide rights to the Serie A games, there should be a announcement soon.
Good news. I think PFC is only SD across all platforms unless I am mistaken. Plus they only show a few games complete and live. Almost all delayed games are 90in60 craziness. This isn't unique to the US. My friend in Brazil tells me that SporTV Brasil does the same thing there: first airing is complete. After that all league and state championship games are edited to 60 minutes.
Fanatiz was pretty solid to use this weekend for first time. 1.) Any indication on when they will be offering beiN connect channels? 2.) I was hoping they would have English feed of GOLTV as an SAP option, or at least have both channels available, instead of just having the Spanish feed.
Yes they are rolling out the connect channels very shortly they didn’t set a time line though. Awesome about Fanatiz looking at the English feed for Goltv.
The interface for connect is kind of clunky. You have to click on connect in channels and then it takes you to a separate screen where you choose the connect channel. (On the iPhone app you have to choose connect and then choose again between connect 4-6 or connect 7-8.) But clunky or not it’s there and at least it works, unlike the BeIN site/apps.
beINSports-3 (Connect) is LaLiga TV which runs 24/7 (occasionally beIN will put a match there if they are overflowing). SA www.soccertvblog.com
