Maybe I’m the only one who does this but I like to catch up on the games that have our young Yanks playing without knowing the result in advance by watching them in order. Last year if I missed a game I’d wait 30min after a game finished to watch it on ESPN+. I was able to watch the early game and most of the Orlando game, but the NYRB game is nowhere to be found on ESPN. Anyone know if they changed their plans this season for when replays are posted? I tried finding the old ESPN+ thread but couldn’t find it.
espn+ is hella screwed up. i keep clicking on a game (already signed into my espn account that has a fully paid up espn+ membership) and it will ask me to sign in or start a free trial ... it takes a couple browse backs and refreshes to get it to realize i am have a sub and am signed in before it will play. super annoying.
Hopefully it’s just this weekend then. I’d expect that there’s others who wish they could watch a replay of one of the games so far but can’t.
I wanted to watch the timbers game yesterday but couldn't until 9 (game was at 6). Never saw it or any other MLS games listed for replay. By now I've seen the score, because when searching for the replay section I first came across "highlights" which very openly divulged that information. Thanks ESPN.
I tried signing up again this year for the home PC. Tried Chrome, Firefox, and even Opera. Went to the trouble of signing in on my smart Samsung TV. All were buggy and kept freezing. Canceled my account again. Signed up with Sling to watch this year's Rio Carnival. Crystal clear and amazing. (As of course is Netflix, Prime, and YouTube.) Not sure why ESPN+ is so lousy but think it's probably lack of bandwidth on their crappy network.
I didn't think I'd ever say it, but I really miss the old MLS Live. It was excellent by comparison with what ESPN+ is doing...
I use the ESPN app on a roku tv. I've never had a problem with the streams working, just that they aren't posting replays from mls games. I haven't checked today, but certainly would expect that if they've had the time to cut a highlight reel then they could have reposted the whole match. Further, since the Timbers game wasn't nationally televised, there should be no blackout period.
Was finally able to get them an hour ago. Going to be very disappointed if this is the norm going forward.
https://www.espn.com/watch/schedule/?type=replay This URL has been reliable for me to find replays on a browser. Click on the desired date and find MLS in the menu under "All Sports". Don't know if something similar works on the various platform apps.
After two days of ESPN+ I'm ready to cancel. Get the first game from tonight just fine, and then the second refused to start up for me. Kept kicking me out, getting me to sign back in, and then kicking me out again. F'em.
I do have issues with ESPN+ app from time to time. But I can currently see 9 replays up to view from this weekend's games.
Yes, I can see all the games are available now. The issue is that, even though they JUST streamed them from the same platform, they aren't making them available in replay in any specific time frame, nor immediately. The San Jose game at 10pm Saturday came up before the Timbers game at 6.
Even if they are replayed locally, I doubt they are replayed that soon where a 6:00 P.M. game would be replayed during or before a game in another city that started 4 hours later. Furthermore, some RSNs might replay every game the next day, and maybe multiple times. It would be ridiculous to delay people around the country from watching a game because an RSN they don't get wants to make them wait.
The ESPN+ experience with a streaming device versus from a PC browser can be like night and day. I usually watch on an Apple TV or a PS4, both with no issues. Watching on my Mac can be more buggy. It's lost my sign-on at least once. What I most miss from MLS Live was having all the replays in one place. To the best of my knowledge, Fox and Univision games never appear in ESPN+, not even after a grace period. ------RM
They would post them 30-60min after they finished last season. There were a ton of college basketball games I was seeing them under replay shortly after they disappeared from live.
The replay of the Rapids Timbers game stopped exactly at 90 minutes, they cut off the tying goal in the 94th minute.
I know that I have seen comments about blackouts on ESPN+ but does anyone known why Rapids games are blacked out for me two weeks after they have been played? I probably shouldn’t complain because they may be doing me a favor but I am confused why. I totally understand why the blackout of live games but a replay weeks later???? Why should I bother with the subscription???
Apparently, MLS and ESPN+/MLS Live changed the local blackout policy this season. Last season, local blackouts ended once the match went into the replay section of the ESPN+ schedule page. Now, the blackouts are permanent. More discussion starting on page 6 of this thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-2019-mls-tv-thread.2091668/
