https://streamja.com/mwmy Edit: Reddit's r/soccer is great for goal clips. Just don't waste your time swimming through the comments.
It would mean nothing in hurling. (that said, it has been more than awesome of Germany to basically give us one young player per year to anoint as chosen for at least 3 years straight. You gotta applaud that.)
adams move in taking on two defenders off the dribble rather than play a safe back space opened up the field for the most obvious of hockey assists. rbl hadn’t had a player with space in the middle of the attacking third pretty much all match
Played well in his 45min, not excellent. There were a few times he could have been a bit better defensively (got juked and let a player get his cross in). Like a few others said he didn’t do much offensively. It’s not like anyone on Leipzig was playing well except the goalie maybe.
Feels like a recency bias here. He is quite good on the ball. His jump up in level reminds me a bit of Stu Holden’s. Stu really passes the eye test in MLS and continued that form in England.

Although they are similar players, Adams is quicker and more athletic. He is also slicker with the ball at his feet.
Yes, exactly--my comment on presence in the box referred to that among other things. He can bully the opposition.
First time I've paid much attention to Kampl, he's an interesting player. Seems much more creative and offensive-minded than Tyler, so they're not quite like for like. Wonder if it'll really be between Tyler and Demme then Tyler and Kampl in the end. Though I imagine Kampl can play on the outside a bit as well. Curious to see how that works out in the coming weeks. Hopefully that 5-3-2 nonsense they put out today gets trashed for good.
They have Haidara coming in (he’s injured for the next few weeks), that they paid big money for. Seems to be more of an 8
He doesn’t quite have the same passing range though does he? That ability to spray the ball on long diagonals and switch play. If anything though Adams growth rate is exponential, over the past two years he has applied his prodigious work ethic to the weaknesses in his game (quick passing, one touch, turning in traffic, carrying the ball, etc.), so I am not saying it is not in his locker, it’s just not there yet but I would not bet against it.
Kampl's best attribute might be that he has the tools to play anywhere in midfield - Dortmund signed him as a wide midfielder during the hectic final season of Klopp's tenure. Unfortunately he struggled in the general disarray of the team and was unceremoniously shipped off to Leverkusen, where he thrived as a DM instead. Demme is more of a destroyer/hustler. They are all good players so I'd be interested in seeing Adams deployed wherever Leipzig can use him on a particular matchday.
Demme at times looked overmatched in the lone d-mid role. I counted two occasions when he missed on a slide tackle out wide trying to close down an opponent dribbling down the wing. Having Adams next to him would split that load, but it is arguable that Tyler, given how much ground he can cover, is much more adept at making just that kind of play. It is perhaps the state of things that he is has not yet proven himself to the extent that he is first choice over Demme, less gifted athletically but more established and integrated into the squad. If Tyler can continue to exploit space the way he did yesterday, then he may able to move ahead of one of either Kampl or Demme.
I’m glad the discussion is heading towards realizing his potential dilemma for the rest of this season. Kampl is probably starting next week assuming he’s already near 90min match fit, but his role seems far different from Adams. I’d say he played about as well as Demme in the 2nd half, although Demme did get subbed a bit early. Anyone know anything about this Haidara guy? Even if he proves he’s a better choice than Demme, this guy sounds like his main competition.
Haidara is 21 years old came from Salzburg as a Keita replacement. He is more of a ball playing CM than Keta was (who is more dynamic due to being able to break lines by passing AND dribbling).
I'm not optimistic. It's a pretty good controlled experiment though, because Rzatkowski for Adams is the only expected change in the starting XI.
