With my 12th pick, I will select Brandon Servania. A lot has changed at FC Dallas this offseason and I’m of the opinion that Luchi is going to give a lot of chances to kids this year. I always thought of Servania as a nice player but he impressed in the CONCACAF u20 Championship. 1) McKennie 2) Amon 3) Bello 4) Soto 5) Parker 6) Carleton 7) Marshall 8) Hines-Ike 9) Gooch 10) Moore 11) Bono 12) Servania @thedukeofsoccer is up
12th rd: CJ Sapong, FW, Philadelphia Union I'm already pretty fw-centric, but someone of Sapong's class is amazing value at this point in the draft. On ability and performance probably should have went several rounds earlier. He's looked good for the national team in limited opportunities. One of the standouts in Portugal and at last Jan. camp. Sort of in limbo now because he's at an age where he probably won't be fully integrated w/ the national team from this point forward. But hardly old at 30 and given his genes, projects to age well. Had somewhat of a down season last year, but played better toward the end, we've seen it before with him, and starting attackers in MLS are in a small minority. Can play both up top and at the wing because of his dribbling ability, underrated passing, and ability to press. One of the most valuable players in MLS regardless of nationality in 2017, for which I also drafted him. @Kevin8833 is back in the on deck circle.
I’ll take Kyle Beckerman, getting near the end of his career but still a very strong midfield presence. He will bring some extra defensive stability to my midfield when needed. He could possibly start as my 6 but likely will be used to come into the game to help protect a lead, to change the shape, or to allow Feilhaber to play more advanced. I’m also considering playing him as in inverted fullback possibly over Lovitz to create overloads in the center of the field. @ChuckMe92 you’re up!
I'm going to take Zyen Jones, who has a professional contract with Schalke and has captained their U19s. He has among the most physical and athletic talent of anyone in the entire US pool. He'll provide depth for me on both wings, and since I'm not really satisfied with my current starting LB, I'm not opposed to saying "screw it" and starting Jones at LB. @zlebmada
With my 12th pick I will take Sebastian Saucedo, the 22-year-old winger for Real Salt Lake. Mostly coming in off the bench, he produced 4g/4a in about 1,000 minutes in MLS in 2018. Pretty decent rate of return for a young American attacker (slightly better than Pulisic in all comps this season, for instance). Saucedo can cut in and have one and he's player whose reliability, confidence and game intelligence are growing. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...saucedo-extends-lead-fantastic-curling-strike With my 13th pick, dam the torpedoes, I'm taking Kobe Hernandez-Foster, the 16-year-old left back for the LA Galaxy academy (and probably Los Dos in 2019). Hernandez grew up playing the wing and was converted into a left back by Brian Kleiban. In any other U17 cycle (ie one not including George Bello) Kobe would be the starting left back. As it is, he's played mostly out of position at the international level as a centerback, and has acquitted himself well there. He's an excellent passer and an intelligent defender, a perfect fit on the other side of the field for the role Nick Lima played with the USMNT on Sunday. @ChuckMe92 is on the clock
I'll take Fernando Arce Jr., the 22-year-old mainstay for Diego Maradona's Dorados. Arce plays just about anywhere in midfield and thus is a useful bench player. He's one of the most established players in the lineup for the team that finished runners-up of the Apertura in Ascenso MX. Seems to project as a player who could eventually be a decent Liga MX starter, and there's a chance it could happen sooner than we think if Dorados get promoted. Arce Sr. represented Mexico at senior level, but Arce Jr. is provisionally cap-tied to the US. @Kevin8833
I pick Teal Bunbury, someone I can bring in late or even start if I see a particular matchup I like as a 9, he is powerful and has decent speed, scored 11 goals last season so he is someone who could provide a goal and a different threat, kind of a plan B. @thedukeofsoccer you're up!
13th rd: Miles Robinson, CB, Atlanta Robinson was a world champ in 2018. But he received limited action on a team too strong, unwilling, and had a manager that wasn't inclined to play many youngsters and domestics. However, they're under new management now, Parkhurst is old, there's talk of Pirez transferring, and Robinson got some valuable experience toward the end of the regular season, so now he may well receive his overdue opportunity. Agile, aware defender, with solid size. Useful on corner kicks. Could have used some skill development, and Atlanta is the best club in MLS to receive it on. The next Aaron Long, who should break through much earlier. @Lookingforleftbacks the floor is yours.
I’m going to select Tommy Thompson of San Jose. He was injured most of last year and San Jose is just a terrible team, but when he’s healthy, he’s dynamic and creates havoc. I think this is a big year for him cuz he’s 23 now and isn’t a kid anymore. @Matthew Hartman is up
We select chris pontius. The versatile CM will bring some nice punch off the bench but can also get down and dirty. @AutoPenalti
With our 13th pick; @IndividualEleven and I select: Michael Orozco Fiscal Still going strong in Liga MX, Lobos defender can play anywhere on the back line; which makes him ideal as a substitute. Plus, he brings with him veteran leadership. Not to mention 4 goals for the USMNT. @jond
I like prospects so... Indiana Vassilev of Aston Villa. My heritage also wants to see him do well. Наздраве момчета. очевидно, Индиана @ShaftBrewer
I'm taking Julian Araujo and Kik Pierie. Not sure there is a better defensive prospect in the pipeline than Araujo. There will be movement with regards to his professional deal soon. He can play with RCB or RB and I believe will be a revelation at the USL level this coming season. I'm also going to select Kik Pierie, who if he was committed to the US would be a top 30 player in our pool right now. He's a left footed defender who starts in the Eredivisie for Heerenveen. He's an automatic starter and someone the USSF has continues to track. Can play either LCB or LB. @ShaftBrewer
No Pierie, No Problem. I'll go with Taylor Booth, for me the starting #6 for the US U20s this summer. Believe he has a trajectory unlike many others in that age range.
I will take Michael Edwards, the Wolfsburg CB. @USAProspects/@!CreightonMCFCJoey reported that Edwards is training with the Wolfsburg first-team recently. @jond
I select Fede Oliva of Atletico Madrid. Don't act like you haven't heard of him. 👌👌☺️☺️☺️ pic.twitter.com/jTTMPHRSVq— Carofeni (@carofenico) November 25, 2018 pic.twitter.com/SEqvsqNDin— Carofeni (@carofenico) November 3, 2018 @Eleven Bravo @IndividualEleven
@IndividualEleven and I select: Jeff Larentowicz https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...-atlanta-uniteds-not-so-secret-playoff-weapon Yes, he’s getting older, but it seems like he has only improved with age. Able to man the midfield or defense, he adds bite to any team. Plus, I needed at least one Atlanta United player. GK Robles RB Chandler CB Alavarado CB Trusty LB Morrow DM Trapp RM Delgado LM Rowe CM Mihailovic FW Zardes FW Wood ————- FW Siebatcheu MF Larentowicz DF Orozco @AutoPenalti
Juan Pablo Torres is our selection. Can play anywhere in the midfield, and he has to be getting minutes for NYCFC this year. @Matthew Hartman is up - i also think you need to get your pick from round 13 in? pick #150 - unless I missed it.
I didn't pick last round so I get two picks here. I'll take Dantouma Toure and Frankie Amaya. @Lookingforleftbacks
