We've a promising group wingers coming through in Holmes, Amon, Gooch, Gall, and Pulisic. That's not to mention the U20s.
If you're going to sneak your way into being designated the home team by donning white shirts instead, that's fine. I'll take you with that handicap too. Boy, you weren't kidding about the attack-centric team. You'll be nasty, if you ever win the ball.
Everyone has their opinions and I can truly see where you’re coming from but that mentality has been plaguing this country. We say we want a proactive attacking team that can keep possession but we are too scared to play the guys that can actually do it so it doesn’t happen. The team I have can absolutely recover the ball and in my opinion do so very well. If we get pinned back you may have a bit of a case, we could have some difficulty defending the penalty box under heavy pressure, but we still have a solid back four. The main idea is that we will play a short passing game and apply immediate pressure to recover the ball quickly. You could have the same concerns over a David Silva and Bernardo Silva midfield, a Xavi and Iniesta, an Isco and Modric midfield among others. LAFC had success with a Feilhaber, Nguyen, Vela midfield and although Vela is better than Ibarra, Ibarra is very good in his own right and is better at recovering the ball, nearly double the ball recoveries of Vela.
Have an optimistic attitude sounds good on a bumper sticker, but when we try to play super attack-centric like having Mix at the 8, we get over-run at home by the likes of Haiti. So then it's about being practical and having a balanced team that can fill all roles necessary in a football match, realizing we can't be Man City relative to the rest of our competition. We can't do it with the A-Team so I don't know how it could be accomplished against an E-team relative to other E-teams who are better than Haiti.
I will agree to disagree. One game three years ago with no one from my team is a strange way to say my team won’t be able to function. You proved exactly what I said if we don’t put out the right players to play the style nearly every coach in America SAYS they want to use because they think they need more balance or more ball winning or whatever the case might be, that style of play is never going to actually happen. You can recover the ball with intelligent pressing and closing gaps quickly, it doesn’t take a crunching tackle to recover the ball. There’s no point in us both continuing to make the same points though so like I said in the beginning we can agree to disagree. I picked the team I wanted inspite of the fact that I know people will be wrongly thinking they can score 7 goals a game against us.
You're not going to will it into existence both given our pool, competition, and the way the sport is played. Man City even has Fernandinho as a destroyer and sometimes Gundogan at the 8. They know they need adequate ability to win the ball and thwart counters. They are going to turn it over on occasion and there's some alternate possession built-in to the rules. Can't just achieve it with all offense in the front 6.
Man City also often plays Gundogan as a 6, I’m not sure where I ever said winning the ball and thwarting counters wasn’t important, if anything I said the opposite I just don’t believe a crunching tackle is required to do so, it is done with positional play and tactics and I have Feilhaber, Nguyen, and Opara who are very experienced to sort things out and make sure potential counters are blocked. All four of my back 4 and goalkeeper are national team players so it is certainly not all about my front 6.
Really pleased with Hagglund. We were torn between him and someone else but decided to go with Hagglund. He has experience in a 3 backline with TFC and played well when given the chance. He’s also moving to a new club where he will get ample opportunity to play. We feel that he perfectly rounds out our 11.
At this point in the draft there isn’t anything special out there. But a solid player is enough. Especially with Besler and Birnbaum filling out the line. Just need someone not to ******** it up.

Funny how fast the fan base gave up on him so quickly. He had a bad year, but let’s face it, Orlando was a s*** show. He still has among the best vision of any player in the pool
I was hoping he’d have fallen to our 12th pick for the last couple rounds. If we hadn’t already addressed our mid would have drafted him. He has flaws and had an off year but he’s still a solid player.
The prospect of ending up with David Bingham as my GK made me draft Bono, but I was determined to take him before it was time to pull the trigger.
18 rounds. My team probably isn't going to win based on who I've picked, so I'm going to try to have some fun with my remaining picks, perhaps.
