Hwang IB is wasting his exemption to move to a club and league at his level. Thank you, next...

Kind of surreal that I'll be able to watch an active national team member play for my home team.

He'll only be here for a season or two before he's sold on (a la Miguel Almiron), and I hope he goes to a bigger European team then, but he'll be the star player here.

you principled fans are so annoying. players don't have as much career freedom and choices as we think they do when their club, agent, and family have their own self-interests.

it's their life and if it turns out to be a bad decision, i promise it'll hurt them more than it hurts any of us. maybe your principled ass should've been a righteous footballer instead of shitting on young kids' career decisions.

this was posted online, is this an accurate translation?
    MOE - VAN paid 1.8m

MLS is getting money, sending young players to europe, and recruiting young south americans. they've surpassed the k-league

You know that can be real bullshit about Werder Bremen. Same with KMJ and Watford. Just saying.

Lol, 1 day after they got eliminating, they all signed their new contract
Basically, throughout the tournament, half of the team was either busy negotiating with their new teams (KMJ, KYG, HIB) or eager to be back in their team (KSY, KJC, SHM, LCY). And I wondered why they didn't seem motivated.

doubt K league clubs have buyout clause. at the same time, korean article states daejeon were looking for 1.5m to 3m. if true, he was priced out from start for any potential clubs interested in him.

btw, Daejeon chief did say they didn't want to sell him unless they receive good offer for him since their budget for this yr (like every club in K League) is slashed

What I am reading is that Werder scouted him since the match vs Uzbekistan and were ready to pay the right price. However, neither Daejeon or HIB's agent answered their contact. HIB was told that Bremen wanted a 6 months loan plus buy option, but Werder wanted a permanent transfer. That means Daejeon and HIBs agent lied about the offer and ignored Bremen, so HIB was thinking that there was no other options than Vancouver. He is said to be confused.

Also HSV's offer was to low for Daejeon, but HIB really wanted to go there and even told HHC how nice it would be to become team mates.

In this case, HIB was fooled by his agent and the club. You can say that this sounds like BS. Probably is, but it didn't make sense that HIB who openly talked about his dreams to move to Europe and even went to military at a very young age, eventually goes to Canada. So, I think it could actually be true story.

Almost certainly a BS. He got no offers from Europe, so he's going to Canada. That makes more sense than this nonsensical excuse.

Very hard to go to Europe when you have 0 offers, so goes to Canada. Straight forward.

May be a sign that even the players know that KFA is being run by clowns. Why invest your blood, sweat, and tears for leadership that continues to be a failure? I think KSY’s social media post about being thankful his KNT career is over is also telling.

To add to the European offers being B.S., Vancouver paying 1.8 mil, or any number that ends in mil, for HIB is a complete fantasy.

I have an easier time suspending most of my brain functions to believe that con artist Trump ridiculously saying Mexico will pay for the wall than I can believe this nonsense.

you can argue mls is better than the kleague as long as europe remains the ultimate destination it is a sideways move. jleague has been ahead of kleague for a long time its korean players havent seen any bonus points when it comes to move towards west. nearly every korean that made a move from japan to europe got their attraction from national team exposure. 12 hour flight times between vancouver and incheon (even longer if he leaves from a east coast city) makes it the longest travel time and timezone difference out of anyone on the national team and will not do him any favour when it comes to international matchday performance
