No, we have to accept that we are not that good. Korea has backpeddled for the last 8-10 years with zero progress. KFA corruption, cronyism, and incompetence and dearth of youth development. All that stuff matters and we saw the evidence of it in the poor quality of form at this tournament. Bento is the only changed variable. Win against Germany felt good but it's far from vindication. Bento and Germany win is not enough. Everyone else is getting better including China but we are getting left behind and it will only get worse.
Agreed. I would put more of the fault on Jung WY with that goal. I'm not a huge fan of KSG, but he wasn't the problem in this tournament.
KSG. i have extreme hate for this man atm. just wanna slap your silly mug and give you a facewash. all you had to do was react in time to get a finger on it and the ball would have been diverted, at worst hit the post. doesn't excuse all our futility executing in their box but FFS, to lose on a goal like that is infuriating.
we have to give credit where its due. they fcked us over bad. they parked the bus and did it right and we had no answer. we found no way through except maybe that free kick that hit the post. i can't say we deserved anything after watching that and considering our talent vs qatar.

Even extremely creative and talented teams have a hard time when other squads effectively park the bus against them in an organized manner. The KNT just lacks that quality to break them down.
I know some of you want Bento sacked, but giving Stielike more time than Bento is just wrong. Bento still has yet to prove himself, when things look the same after two years, only then you can take out your pitchforks and torches.

Looking at the alternate angles, it was a good shot into the corner that went through a screen of defenders. I don’t know if CHW could save that honestly.
Also for people comparing Stielike to Bento, well Stielike didn't have to go through dumb dramas like this current tournament, and we had the most informed squad in tournament history as far as I remembered. It was suppose to be a smooth sailing for Stielike until he ********ed up in the final.
