How so? I thought Yoshida, Shibasaki etc are pretty physical?

    Edit: Meant Makino not Shibasaki

    Korea vs China (possession 61:39):
Korea 17 shots 8 on target
China 6 shots 1 on target

    Iran vs China (possession 52:48)
Iran 18 shots 7 on target
China 5 shots 1 on target

Iran had a great game today, but a reminder that we also fcked up China pretty hard too. We also had some hit the post, like HEJ's curler. Biggest difference is that Iran scored on defensive mistakes whilst we scored via PK and corner.

Japanese players are mostly finesse, not powerful. Not to mention their attack is very short. They looked even in physique with Vietnam today. I assure you Iran will destroy Japan in physicality.

I hope this is the beginning of an Asian rivalry. Two traditionally technically strong Asian teams. Korea vs Iran and Korea vs Japan are always tense for me, so its great to finally see these two head against each other.

he was but he slowly had an upward trend. Algeria had a bunch of french born and trained attackers. It obviously was too much for him.

japan vs iran is going to be a boring match. both teams are going to sit back and close the space in between the defenders and the goalkeeper so that the opposing team do not have room to organize a goal scoring chance. predicting a set piece goal or a soft penalty being the decider with iran being the favourite

wow, such horrid defending by china. three times the defenders got out muscled or outsmarted by the attackers leading to all three goals.

this rule applies for players who are looking to acquire new nationality after theyve been declared for another country. it literally says acquisition of new nationality. if you already have had the nationality before youve hit pro you are okay with 2 years residency. it wouldnt make sense to force immigrant players to live in the country 5 more years after theyve hit 18 when theyve been living in the country the last 10. french u18-u23 teams would have no players to field

Defense is a mindset and then building up skills through experience under pressure. That's why having a set backline is important and KYK clicked just in time for the last WC. Defense along with keeper will be terrible to bearable but will stabilize with time and experience. We're far from that point. Iran on the other hand have been building on their strengths under Carlos which is why they're in such good form.

I don't know if anyone noticed or not but Marcello Lippi ignored CQ's handshake in the end.

Pretty funny but I'll give him a pass as he's a legend and didn't deserve to coach such a shitty NT on probably his last day in charge of a "professional team"

queiroz prematch comments regarding china came across a bit belittling. i know everything is a psychological mind game with queiroz but lippi may have taken it personally
