Damn... That's insane given how serious of a fracture it is. I can't believe the Chinese team doctor and Lippi made him play on after taking pain killers. What were they thinking???

I wouldn't want to wish that kind of injury to anyone, even to our rivals.

Knowing the culture of china and their history of dirty tactics in and off the court in any sport, I'm not surprised if they are lying about their best player's injury.

What could their NT gain from faking his injuries? Unless you mean SIPG

For what reason though? Can't imagine why they'd just send their best player back to china on an injury pretense

Wu lei is not good enough to change tactics of any team. He is not even good enough to make our starting 11. I would be down to even let china borrow messi, so when we beat them it will be even more humiliating.

I'm calling bs on that tweet. No way he was able to play with the fracture shown in that xray. I had two bones separate by 3-5 millimeters (bike crash in the summer) and the first couple of days were absolute hell. I couldn't raise my arm and any jerking motion would cause insane pain. The pain was horrible, even with painkillers. It took me a solid month before I felt relatively normal.

That xray is showing a clear fracture!!! The pain would be horrific. Remember, my thing was a 3-5 millimeter separation, that's it.

i'm glad some folks are calling this out, because it just seemed too surreal to be true

i've fractured my clavicle before - clean break like wu lei, only difference being my injury went down the middle instead of close to the shoulder. can concur w asimovfan - the pain is unreal. had my arm in a sling that also had some adhesive wrap going around my bicep / chest which I even had to wear when I was sleeping to avoid any more abnormalities during the healing process. forget raising your arm, let alone like in that celebration. LET ALONE a week after the injury ...

my exp w this injury tells me that this ain't their most dangerous player. ofc, we also wouldn't be postulating like this if we managed to get a pic of this dude's face. something's not adding up lol

Can someone tell me where it said he has a fracture? All i see is a dislocated clavicle. I dont see a bone break unless if you zoom in the picture and see a hairline crack on the clavicle. He most def gonna have some tendon damage, but in some cases you can just pop it back in. I dont think it is the case here b/c that is a severe dislocation. But maybe you can give him a cortisone shot and he may be able to play (but carefully) still too risky

for those that suffered hairline fractures and/or such dislocations...is it possible for one to make a full out sprints in either of those conditions, let alone come in contact?

With the right amount of pain medication, it is possible to run around. But you will be so out of it you will be running the wrong way. Possibly into the stands and up and down the tunnel.
