Public intoxication is like the spitting on the sidewalk level of misdemeanor. If he's getting Drunk and Disorderly charges I will at least pretend to be interested.
From the Irish perspective why should they depend on US govt documentation to determine Irish citizenry?
I'm a Leeds fan so I've only watched him 2 times a year, but a couple of years ago he torched Leeds and looked world class doing it. He's a really good player and one I didn't think DCU could afford.
I don't think he's actually played in 2018. Injury in the groinal region, just had another surgery in November. So, very possibly both affordable and a risk, as good as he might have been in 2017. Injury update. Kinda.
There's a joke here about taking three drinks and a sleep aid and waking up with dual citizenship, but I can't quite finish it.
I hope you all won't miss Saturday home games too much, because after June 29, United has ZERO home Saturday games. The home schedule is: Sunday, March 3, 6 PM vs Atlanta Saturday, March 16, 8 PM vs RSL Saturday, April 6, 2:30 PM vs LAFC Tuesday, April 9, 8 PM vs Montreal Sunday, April 21, 4 PM vs NYCFC Saturday, May 4, 8 PM vs Columbus Sunday, May 12, 7 PM vs SKC Wednesday, May 29, 8 PM vs Chicago Saturday, June 1, 8 PM vs San Jose Wednesday, June 26, 8 PM vs Orlando Saturday, June 29, 8 PM vs Toronto Friday, July 12, 7 PM vs New England Sunday, August 4, 7:30 PM, Philadelphia Sunday, August 11, 7:30 PM, Galaxy Wednesday, August 21, 8 PM, NYRB Sunday, September 22, 6 PM, Seattle Sunday, October 6, 4 PM, Cincinnati So that's 1 Tuesday, 3 Wednesday, 1 Friday, 5 Saturday, and 7 Sunday matches.
Ain't gonna lie ... Saturday is the worst for me, so I'm pretty psyched. Looking at that schedule, I could make as many as 50% of the games, which I didn't expect.
I think that, as long as the game isn't on national TV, 8 PM starts are the new reality at Audi Field.
Are there any open weekend dates? I didn't see the road schedule. Seems like there shouldn't be any weekday games when you control your venue.
Not so bad from my perspective. Despite a 3 month sojourn in Italy this summer, I'll be around for 11 of 17 home matches.
DC United aren't playing during any of the FIFA international windows. Also, the schedule is compressed this year - it ends 3 weeks earlier than last year, plus there's a break for the Gold Cup. Otherwise, there are not really any open weekends on DC's schedule. Last thing to note: United aren't in full control of availability at Audi, as they are working around the Nationals schedule, too. There are no Nats/United doubleheaders this year.
I don't stream. no Netflix, no Hulu, no Amazon. I won't stream any content. It is a poor platform and another case of the FO trying to cater to a younger fan base that will fail. Every day they drive me further and further away from being a fan of this club or this league.
Why should they cater to old people? You're becoming a deck chair yourself. *Stay in 1987 then (or go support FC Baltimore or an USL team). New channel 8 is a rubbish platform. No replays, no content. Just one game. Nothing.
It's not a question of catering to old people. Plenty of the people buying higher end seats at the stadium are middle-aged or older. My dad's pushing 70 and he didn't have any real problem figuring out the paperless ticket system (I took a screenshot of the ticket and sent it to him, and he used that to get in). But, if you're not willing to even use a modicum of effort to take advantage of things like paperless tickets, online parking apps and so on, I'm not sure why the team should bother setting up a parallel system for a small minority of people.
@shawn12011 's perfect world is a 1955 DeSoto in the driveway and rabbit ears on his B&W TV. Tough target demographic in 2019.
Actually I'm pushing 70 myself and figured out the paperless tickets and parking apps. Haven't carried a paper calendar/day planner in at least a decade. If you don't adapt, you die. This is particularly true in the entertainment sphere. Those folks, of which DCU is a part, are looking for the target demographic that they can use to leverage the product. In this case, they have decided that a streaming service best serves that interest. On the micro level at DCU folks like Chris Hull will attempt to fix any discrete problem that arises. On the macro level, DCU as an organization doesn't give two shits about folks who don't want to stream televised games, don't want paperless ticketing, etc. The world, including DCU, will not bother to accommodate those that decide to "stay behind." Don't see many livery stables or farriers anymore in the city. Whether that reality is good or ill, is a subject for something far more serious than the ramblings of various internet nuts to use KP's quaint phrase.
It may be what year it occurred. When my parents received their US citizenship (around 2000?) they had to renounce their other citizenship. Other countries, knowing that the US required this, had a process where you could get your citizenship back no questions asked for a period of time (60-90 days or something like that). For the purposes of having a clearance, there is a concern of loyalty to country. It's a mild problem if you don't carry a foreign passport, but more significant if you do. Since foreign nationals can get clearances I don't think it's disqualifying, but it'll get looked into.
There's a minor learning curve, certainly. But, after this season, I'm a big fan of the paperless ticketing system. It makes sending tickets to friends much easier, and I never have to worry about forgetting my ticket at home. Sure, there were some growing pains with the technology last season. That's to be expected with a crash implementation in the middle of the season with a brand new stadium. But like you said, adapt or die. My dad is a mechanical engineer and he saw a lot of his contemporaries refuse to learn new technology, which resuled in them becoming less and less employable in their field.
I have a spoiler for you; we'll all die the same way/time anyway - any adaptation to digital is irrelevant to that (unless you're hit by a car while browsing your phone, of course) It's cool, DC United has decided they don't want certain folks around, me being one of them. I'll find something else to do with my time I'm sure. Not sure what yet since I've made this stupid club my life since 1995 - but something will come along I'm sure. Maybe more sleep and some spending money
