My completely ungrounded theory is that Villarreal is waiting to call him up to the first team until he has Spanish citizenship which required

dude you do this all the time. i get it, you are from the minnesota area and you have a connection with this player. BUT your posts itt are so off.

a third tier team (some players that won't ever play high level first division soccer ever) isn't going to "mop up" in MLS.

but you'll continue to do the same things itt as you've done for years. so, its a losing battle!

Are we aware of how bad the MLS is compared to the rest of the word? We’re comparing one the deepest academy systems in the world to one of the worst top divisions in the world. I dare anyone to watch a full 90 minute match by villarreal b and then give me 5 MLS that they wouldn’t beat.

Do you think they'd beat Atlanta?

Ridiculous hyperbole! As the following link shows, MLS isn't anywhere close to the worst top division in UEFA, let alone in the entire world. I dare you to find 5 leagues at the bottom of that list that are anywhere near the quality of MLS.

His current team beating some of the few very bad teams in MLS shouldn't be a surprise. His team would stand no chance against the top playoff teams, though. Yes, I know, wrong thread.

I wish Akale was an inch taller. If he was he might be with the first team sooner.

With the same resources????? You’re blind. We have more youth soccer players than anyone in the world. Our ownership group is the 2nd wealthiest in the world. We have one of the largest populations for top leagues in the world..... and yet the quality of play is soooooo poor. Throw in that every year less and less Americans are actually getting playing time and you have a perfect tornado of complete US SOCCER shit.

You made the dumb claim that MLS is one of the worst top divisions in the world. That claim is very obviously wrong. People would respect you more if you just owned up to it when called out instead of moving the goalposts by adding qualifiers about the number of youth soccer players, etc.

The thing that is perplexing to me is that it is extremely possible and not at all difficult to be critical of MLS in an intelligent and informed way without resorting to ideological hackery, but it seems that some people just can't help themselves.

And when is he expected to get said citizenship?

And with a Cameroonian father, wouldn't he be Cotonou-eligible and thus not need Spanish citizenship to not count as a foreigner in Spain? (Apologies if this has been discussed before. Too lazy to look it up.)

I get the feeling that a certain somebody spent a semester abroad in Spain, and hasn’t stopped talking about Bar-THE-lona and the superiority of Spanish culture since returning.

I can’t stand when people add the lisp to Barcelona. It is improper because there’s no lisp in Catalan.

Started and played 90 in a 3-1 defeat of Atlanta United.

.....Actually it was a 2 - 0 loss at Conellá. VCFB drops to third in their group but are still well within sight of a promotion opportunity.

any updates this transfer window with Akale? he turns 22 next week, and still doesn't look like he's close to first team minutes. Any loan opportunities?

Dude that's just mean. Besides he plays for a team that could easily win the SS and MLS Cup.
