that may not be that difficult and surprising as barca would probably play not a full strength team otherwise, what a great goal! ********ing good! 2 from 3 so far! COYS!
Better than Chelsea, better than Inter Milan. 2/3 of the way through one massive week, these lads must be absolutely buzzing with confidence. Who's next up? Alright then
No kidding. Never thought I'd see the day when Dembele might have trouble getting back in the team because of Sissoko.
Great game, wasn’t looking like it was going to be our night with the lack of finishing. Sissoko finally came through with a great run and a perfect pass. Now if we can keep this form going. COYS!
The side showed lots of patience against an improving Inter team and Eriksen coming on for the final 20 minutes made the difference. For 70 minutes, we were not a threat from set pieces, but as soon as he came on, his first duty was to take a free kick and he pinged it onto the head of the returning Vertonghen who should have scored. Without Eriksen, we are a decent side but lack the quality to rip teams apart. Props to Sissoko and Dele in the buildup to the goal, especially Dele's lay-off - a smidgeon light and the shot gets blocked, a smidgeon heavy and it takes Eriksen wide. Verthonghen's return is huge because it allows Toby to play from his natural right sided berth and gives us a much better range of passing out of the defence, which we don't have when Sanchez or Foyth are in the team. Plus Vert is an excellent defender. Sissoko has now moved into that rare class of Spurs player who was initially reviled by the support (including yours truly) and is now loved. The only others I can think of off the top of my head are Huerelho Gomes and Younès Kaboul - I am sure there are others. Can we win at the Camp Nou? It will be difficult, whatever team they put out. I believe their recent loss to Real Betis was their first home defeat in the last 26 months!
as Steve Nash said on B/R Live - we just have to play the scum with confidence - pure gold on a tv live commentary
Um... Debbie Downer here... we will be moving down to Europa League. Do we really believe that Inter will lose or draw at PSV and we will win at Barca? Match Inter's outcome sounds easy, until you look at opponents. I can imagine us winning, more likely draw. But, I'd be shocked if Inter lost or even drew.
If we go out, so be it. But, the difference between the good sides and the great ones (even Barca) is mental, the final 1 or 2% of performance is in the head. No going there scared, hoping for a draw and a favour from PSV. Go and give them a game, in their faces for 90 mins - and this game means much, much more to us than it does them. If there's a single Barca player at less than 100% mentally, we have a chance.
