Did someone travel to Austin and pay Bob a visit for welshing on his bet? Does Jack have an alibi? Barker a visit
I think for those of us in Columbus an appropriate analogy would be to call Austin's Domain our Easton, and to say COTA location (Bold FC home) is down past Grove city. Either spot should be a manageable drive for most of the Austin residence. Obviously anyone south of Downtown would prefer COTA, and anyone North of Downtown would prefer the Domain. There is not much development around COTA, where The Domain is about 1.5 miles from the Mckalla spot so lots of stuff reasonably nearby.
What's it being used for currently? The million dollar an acre valuation is simply an asking price. Nobody is paying that for a lot which is surrounded by railroad tracks with no street frontage. County auditor has the lot at 9.01 acres with a market value of $897,300
Went back to look for some more info on the Savko 9 acres. Didn't find exactly what I was looking for but did see this from last September: https://www.dispatch.com/business/2...-project-discloses-talks-with-crew-about-site Couple things stick out: First, the Savkos seem, logically, to tie their piece with the Schottenstein parcel for development purposes as their triangle by itself would seem to be more or less unuseable as things now stand. The article mentions that the railroad line is rarely used, and then suggests that the owner, CSX, which "owns most of the site" wants to sell but it's not clear what, exactly, it is they are selling. If it's that whole stretch of rail bed that bisects the area then a whole bunch of possibilities open up access (which suddenly becomes simple) and even green space.
There were some solid sales yesterday though. A big chunk in a couple of the upper sections disappeared. They released more tickets but they sold more too.
That's a good analogy. To be fair though "should be manageable" and something people will do are two totally different things.
I might have listened before? I don't find the EPL all that interesting, and i already have 3 that cover it pretty extensively. So then i like to go for league specific pods, like Talking Fussball (Bundesliga), Spanish Football Podcast, French Football Weekly, ESPN FC has a Serie A podcast called Serie Awesome, and Extra Time Radio for MLS. Also listen to Max and Herc, which covers MLS, Liga MX, USMNT, and El Tri. I also used to listen to a bunch of team specific pods, but there are just too many to keep up with, so i mainly just stick to leagues now.
There also may be some sort of easement on that property which may limit the options for its use. Is it boarded in by railroad tracks on all 3 sides? What is the third side?
Yes--bounded by tracks on all sides, creating a "wye" (which is sometimes used for turning trains/locomotives, now that roundhouses are almost extinct).
But if what the article said is correct, CSX "rarely" uses those tracks and wants to sell. INAL, but it would seem that if the railroad gives up the land the easements are mooted.
One other thought. Would those tracks be needed for potential future passenger rail (yeah, I know that's a long shot--but it's something the city's wanted for a while), as any potential station would be part of the Convention Center. Might explain the city's position on access.
The site does technically have a fourth side. It's bound by Nationwide Blvd to the south with RR on the east, west and north. But it's so close to the southern tip of the RR triangle that access from Nationwide Blvd is limited to a single two-lane drive. That segment of the property line is only 33 feet wide.
Podcasts: No other West Wing Weekly fans out there? How about 99% Invisible? Been meaning to get caught up on More Perfect. I rarely have time to actually listen live to broadcast radio programs like Radiolab, Fresh Air, or This American Life; love their podcast versions.
City council members have already told me the city would chip in. How much they’re spending remains to be seen.— Ben Garbarek (@bengarbarek) October 23, 2018 There is your government support
Yes, and as far as funding, Most of the funding came from private donations, with aid also provided by Franklin County and the state of Ohio.
I think it's supposed to open this coming Saturday, so I suspect the "Who will pay for that?" question has been answered...maybe CDDC with help from the County.
I feel like there is a crazy amount of seats open on the west end. They would not black them all out for sales unless they needed to fill the tv side first and dont tell me they are holding them for groups. Group sales are sold well in advance. I would not expect a large crowd.
The west side upper deck is not open for sale. But they have opened up the entire lower level, unless they are filling from top to bottom which I can't imagine.
