Except those A games draw from across a 5 or 6 state region. The WAPO recently claimed that the Inn at Little Washington is DC's first 3 Michelin Star Restaurant even when it's 80 miles from town. Are you sure you aren't doing the same?
Just like Wednesday night games, I've always hated the early afternoon Sunday time slot. It's no surprise to me that the stadium wasn't full. The next home game falls on a Saturday night so we'll see how packed the stadium is then.
Afew random stadium thoughts - - I'm not finding decently priced parking to be a problem if you're willing (and able) to walk a bit. And as I talk to the people sitting around me I'm fhearing that many others have found various satisfactory parking solutions. - The dynamic pricing for individual games is a bitch. the last two games I had more people attending than season tickets - on Wednesday I paid $25 for the cheapest ticket but on Saturday $35. Next time I'll work the crowd for someone needing to unload a ticket, which worked well once earlier this season. - One good way to keep cost down is to not buy the high priced food, which I seldom do. Another is to not buy the high priced beer, but I do anyway. - For Sunday's game there were a lot of paid no shows in my section. As much as anything that indicates Sunday afternoon is a bad time. - It's going to take a while for enthusiam to build and maintain for this club, but it will happen if they continue to perform well over a couple of seasons. As noted by many, the FO's marketing efforts have been anemic. On the other hand, signing Rooney is turning out to have been a smart move, on and off the field.
You guys need to give the FO a break. DC United is a brand new expansion side in a just built stadium that needs time to figure out its market. It is not like those clubs who have been around since the inception of MLS.
Sunday at 1 certainly worked for the NFL for the past 5 decades. The recent downturn at least at FEDEX, may have a correlation with your statement. Don't know if baseball has the same issue but I feel convinced the Cap could play anytime they chose to as long as the metro was running and they'd pack he house
Trust me not all is shiny with the SGs and the FO. Still way too many issues, and now the 25% price increase. Yes Chris has come a LONG LONG way compared to what it was, but there is still a LONG LONG way to go with BB and DU. As for STM, I just given up that they care about us. it is what it is and sadly since I am not spending 5k a year, I'm just a replaceable person in their eyes
And since the advent of "Ovie era" I think you would be mostly right for the Caps; but it wasnt that long ago both the caps and bullets were literally giving tickets away. Except for the "good old (pre-Snyder) days" for the deadskins, this town has traditionally been a bandwagon market for the sports entertainment companies. Next season will be a definite tell of the real support for the gNats.
If they think I'm going to call their dumb new tournament anything besides Superliga, they're completely wrong.
After months of pondering Audi's cubic see trhough stairwell, here it is again. That and we're losing the smoking lounge....
There goes the school athletic program too. There's a Fairfax County School Admin facility on Gallows that apparently has a policy of no smoking on the entire compound. I see workers standing on the berm catching a smoke as traffic roars by. Actually it's a good idea because the hundred yard round trip is perhaps all the exercise they get.
Apologies if this should be in another thread...anyone here cash in FAM for additional tickets? I don't see how to do that from the web. Or is it an app-only thing?
App only. you call up you match ticket. then press the three dots in the corner. then you select add ticket. then answer the seating area question then then show you seats. if you don't like those seats repeat the process and new one will show up.
Its also possible that the attendance we are seeing is what its gonna be. It seems to me other MLS version 1 teams that moved to sss didnt result in constant sellouts either. Look at how empty red bull arena always is for example. I do wonder though if they priced things too high. When i first saw the pricing i was kind of shocked.
This. I think a lot has to do with pricing. Especially the "Dynamic Ticket Pricing." I call that "Price Gouging."
