Interesting concept, to not have a totally fatalistic attitude when it comes to the fans' relationship with their team... Members of @Cloud9SBFC, Sky Blue FC’s official supporters group, are refusing to renew their season tickets until conditions are improved for the players and the club fire GM Tony Novo. #NWSL #SBFC— Ali 🟧 (@allibecc) September 12, 2018 ... let's see if it has any effect.
Having had our team ripped away, I think the fanbase of the Earthquakes have a beaten spouse/co-dependent relationship with the team...
The Galaxy have surrendered 16 goals over their last 4 games. Subtract the 1-1 LAFC draw, and that's an average 5 goals per game. I don't know of a league on earth where that's not utterly pathetic and embarrassing.— Jonah Freedman (@jonahfreedman) September 16, 2018
Not the only reason. Its mostly because owner John J. Fisher know nothing and cares less about this franchise and he doesn't want to fire Stahre and hire someone else to pay two coaches.
I mean, I feel like Fisher could sue Stahre for fraud at this point...But Fioranelli obviously made a huge mistake hiring Stahre. I hope both exit soccer forever.
Oops lol obviously a mistake post... but still nothing compared to the mistake of first hiring and then not firing Stahre.
Copy-pasting two comments from the game thread... Holy ****. We’re down 4-0 at home, with nothing to play for this season, and we just used our last sub on a 33 year old Dom Oduro whose professional soccer career has been done for two years. What a joke. ... Meanwhile, SKC, fighting for the top spot in the conference standings, use their last sub on 16 year old prospect Gianluca Busio. The contrast between those two moves pretty much sums up the two teams...
Along those lines... Jackson Yueill came on w/ 32 minutes left last week and completed every pass he attempted for the Quakes. He came on w/ 17 minutes left this week & completed every pass he attempted for the Quakes. This was after not playing for two months. 🤷♂️— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) September 16, 2018 Kid needs to work on his defensive awareness, but SJ's season was over by mid-May. Can't for the life of me figure out why such a talented player was buried on the bench forever, and still isn't starting. What's the worst that could happen? You lose 5-1 at home?Oh wait.— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) September 16, 2018
Eric Calvillo goal for Reno... how about giving him some minutes? I’m told that Mikael Stahre has been fired as head coach of #Quakes74. Steve Ralston to take over on interim basis. Story to follow.— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) September 17, 2018 Edit: Official announcement--https://www.sjearthquakes.com/post/2018/09/17/news-earthquakes-part-ways-head-coach-mikael-stahre-assistant-coach-alex-de-crook
How must it feel for Mikael Stahre, Alex de Crook and their families, to now be jobless not long after making the big move from one side of the world to the other? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Pro sports can be cruel, but for coaches results dictate employment and the axe is going to fall after a debacle like this season. Anyway... close this thread, lock it, throw it away... experiment is over and let's move on!
They are coaches in professional sports which is very results driven. The team's at the VERY bottom of the table, they should not be surprised at the least.
OMG. My prayers have been answered! Don't let the screen door hit your butt, on the way out! Actually, wouldn't care if the screen door DID hit your butt, on the way out! Starting to "rethink" my decision about renewing for 2019? Come on, Steve Ralston! Inspire the players to play like they "never say die!" Show a little pride!
Oh, I expect this isn't the last we'll hear of him. I wondering if they will still hold the listening forum(s)(fora)?
Any idea how his overall play for Reno has been? When I saw him in the preseason I liked his work rate, and then I think he was out for awhile with an injury.
with the benefit of hindsight, Why would you let Kaval decide on a new GM on his way out the door? Where is the accountability? Is it Kaval or the new GM?
