What's your favorite place to watch the Quakes when you are unable (or unwilling) to watch them live in the stadium?
I've enjoyed going to the official watch parties. Otherwise I'll drop by Jack's Bar in Japantown San Jose (the one with the Wondo mural), or, if I'm lethargic, in my converted garage / Quakes-themed man cave.
Back in the olden days , it was always the Britania Arms in both Alamden and Cupertino. Since the advent and availability of the Internet, cable and satellite TV, I haven't really been to either bar since 1996....
My electric reclining chair in front of my 65" tv. So, you went there, but, it didn't really count as going there?
Maybe 97 or 98. I forget. I couldn’t handle eating beans and greasy bacon and eggs in the morning while all the paisans were drinking Ale watching the early days of the EPL cheering on Cantona....
Jack's, Chile's on Coleman and, I even got them to switch the bar TV at Ludwig's for the Dallas game. (I've given up Cable, trying to make do with ESPN+ & Sling. Quakes games are blocked live though).
Sling Blue has the NBC regional sports networks for live viewing. On demand is $5 extra per month. ESPN+ blacks out the live games, available soon after they end. I'm in the same boat and always try to find the cheapest option for away match viewing.
My den/man-cave. I have my computer, my 40" TV and a ready supply of ice cold beer and a bathroom within walking distance and I don't have to put up with exorbitant parking fees, restroom & concession lines, traffic (human and otherwise) and I can yell obscenities at the coach and players without offending Mr. & Missus PC and their little monsters.
My livingroom. I have two guitars on stands, a small tube amp, and about ten more guitars a few steps away. Oh yeah - there's a TV in there, too!
Rookies on Meridian (used to see some of the ticket reps there). Golden State Brewery a couple of times in the past. More often than not, I'm likely home.
