Oh, and yet again, it took them WAY too long to open up the auxiliary gates to let people out after the game. Coming in thru security I tried something new and only slid my phone into the tray, left my keys in my pocket. Blew right past - next time I'm not even taking out my phone.
Thanks for reminding me. The problem with a new stadium is that it attracts the stupid. I have some within hearing distance in my section. I'll bring earplugs. PS: Hopefully the dude is an incel.
What section are you and Riz in this year? I hope that person isnt a STH, He would be punched eventually.
I laugh everytime with Rach when they go through her clear bag....uh its clear, you can see whats in it. ugh so annoying.
It's not bad if there aren't many people. Otherwise, flow is horrible because people are stupid. Seeing some people touching trophies made me cringe and wish some of the trophies were behind glass. I didn't pay close attention and I know suites often don't go into these counts, but at least 3 suites were completely empty. I know exactly which place you're talking about. I'm surprised they haven't fixed that yet. They may have put some under it. Two years ago I would have punched the guy who invaded my space, didn't participate in anything and was on Instagram next to me the entire game. I'm proud of myself.
The Viking clap needs to stay. Gets the entire stadium involved and sounds awesome. We don't really have any ties to Scandinavia (besides our now backup keeper) but who cares!
I put keys, my phone and a slim wallet in it. I was amazed how much they searched them as though everything couldn't just be seen in the grey container.
Bob Kraft walked about 10 feet from me and I got to yell at him for a solid 15-20 seconds about his poor political choices and man he looked hang dog AF because the CSC guys gave me a standing ovation while he was walking away. He looked directly at me too. 10/10 would go to AF to heckle uber rich conservative ********s again
went thru my wife's cigarette case too. Said something snarky like "you know you can't smoke in here, right?" She said "you know I have a 20-minute walk back to my car and will light up as soon as I pass this gate, right?" PS ... No excuse for a place that big to not have at least one smoking section
Yeah he was walking around the perimeter checking out the new digs I guess. Looked pretty shell shocked that someone would actually call him out for being a gigantic asshole. Made my night TBH.
Hah, checking cigarette packs didn't stop our friend from getting in a big post game victory bat to smoke on the way back to the lot... ;-)
LEED certification requires a complete ban on smoking, and it appears DC regulations ban smoking in stadiums, even in designated areas. Nationals Park had an outdoor smoking area for a while, but they eliminated it this year.
There are at least two outdoor party zones near AF. Bardos at the base of the South Capitol Bridge, and the one on the south side of the stadium, where you buy tokens to get beers. I don't necessarily need the experience, but they're nice options to have. Inside I was a bit early and had enough time to buy some chips and gauc at the stand under the 100's. Unfortunately some douche was having trouble and taking 5 minutes trying to purchase stuff with his phone - WTF?? - Just bring cash or use your credit card !!
Definitely awesome to see the whole stadium get involved. I've been standing about halfway up 136 the past few games, and while I have no real complaints, the top half of the SG sections were way quieter last night than Wednesday or last week. I felt awkward singing a few times. Definitely a lot of people scooping up cheapish seats. I guess I'll just have to get there earlier next time and stand further down.
[r Clearly a frequent poster on BS DC United. It would take about 5 minutes to find a hundred posts that agree with the first 2 points. Never saw anyone call soccer easy.
just double up, most of the first 10 plus rows are all doubled up. still way too many people in the SG sections that are just randoms.
