We have Bale, Benzema and now Asensio as a false nine, all players who can play as a forward. If one of them is injured or not available, we can switch them for a midfielder. JL uses them a lot anyway.

    Benzema injured:
    Kroos Casemiro
    Modric
    Bale Asensio Isco

    Bale injured:
    Kroos Casemiro
    Modric Asensio Isco

    Asensio injured:
    Kroos Casemiro
    Modric
    Bale Benzema Isco

The game today is going to be the decider of all if we get smashed then i can see flo doing something, martial should be bought as he is the only one who ticks all the boxes as he is young, fast,a good scorer,is versatile enough to play in 3 differents positions and has a good resale value.

I just don't trust benzema because he has never been a reliable goalscorer but who knows .

Never? You can't be serious. Benz has been a key player for us for years.

He was important again in CL final just a few weeks ago.

I trashed him a few times too, and yet again he proved his usefulness in our last CL final.

I still think we should replace him, but saying that he "never" was useful, yeah that's false.

Not once did he say Benzema was never useful.

I see, but I still think that he had been a reliable goalscorer in CL at least.

    He is Top #4 https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2241732.html

He scored 44/56 with us. He scored in many important games with us too. Most recent one being in CL final.

He did more in CL as a realiable goalscorer than Zlatan Ibrahimovic for example.

And I know I trashed him some months ago, but him scoring in our last CL final really got me. He gets trashed a lot, yet is there again when it was important. And given our run in La Liga, that CL win was damn important imo.

I want to see Vinicius transition into a 9 eventually. Reminds me of R9 a lot. He'll do better there than on the wing I think.

What aspects of R9 are you seeing in Vinicius? I can’t see it.

Ability to get past players with ease, physically and with speed. Plays simple and with purpose. Some here were comparing him to Neymar and Ronaldinho. No way do I see that.

Once he develops better finishing the correct move would be to move him into 9.

No, City were interested but were put off by his sale price, they had no interest in loaning Kova. We offered Kova as a loan to Chelsea as a sweetener, it benefited everyone and he’ll probably end up at a PL team next year. You just keep to your hypotheticals of hypothetical situations, hypothetically.

    Based on what?

Benzema used to be a reilable 20-goals-a-season striker despite being a 3rd fiddle of BBC-trio and used to compete with Higuain/Adebayor for a starting spot. You don't become Real Madrid's 7th highest top scorer ever by being "not a reliable goalscorer" lol.

Forget about signing a new ST, the defence must be reinforced.

Which is a higher priority and needs to be addressed immediately.

It's only 2 weeks until the windows closes, so act fast Flo!

Wrong thread sorry. For those that saw it in the match thread.

    Real: Perez's regrets about MBappe

Sold to PSG for 180ME in 2017, Mbappe could have joined Real Madrid one year ago. This transfer didn't happen, and RM president Florentino Perez is bitterly regretful about it.

"Those two (PSG, and RM) are friend clubs. I have talked to Florentino Perez, and each time he sees me, he always reproaches me for not selling Mbappe to him.", said Vadim Vasilyev (Monaco vice-president) on RMC Sport. And we understand it.

(edit on the credits: Original Vasilyev interview by RMC Sport, LEquipe, LeFigaro and all other big french medias then reported it too.)

I have a different view. We really didn't have any attacking options, need another option. The D issues were down to brain farts today... Varane looked like he was nursing a WC hangover.

Maxi Gomez would bring some positives Costa has minus the douchebaggery. He's tall, strong and can hold the ball up. Formidable in the air. Can't believe we are thinking about keeping Mayoral's mediocrity when Maxi has a 50 ME buyout. Why not take a chance on a striker who offer us something different and scored 17 goals in La Liga at 21? We don't even need 100 ME signings. Lope seems to be fixated on Rodrigo who plays for the wrong club. I thought he'd look more towards La Liga talents being a Spanish guy.

This is lining up to be a summer where most everyone agrees what we need, but those positions aren't reinforced. Gonna be hard to stomach.

I would not be shocked to see Odriozola win the starting job at some point this season

No buyout clause. 18 goals in ligue 1 last season. He won't come cheap. Im sure they wouldn't sell him for less than 50mill right now

We have 35 % of his next transfer so even if it's a 90~ M transfer it would only cost us 60 M.

Wouldn't that just mean they're less likely to sell? If they're only entitled to 65% of any fee, why not just keep him?

Apparently you can’t keep players if they want to leave. That’s why we let Kovacic and James leave for nothing and said bye our only consistent goal scorer and didn’t bother replacing him.

Yes, this all about the money situation ended up in him forcing a loan move at the same salary instead of negotiating a new contract at his existing club. Shocking, Mr. Holmes.
