I am not saying he was shit in Russia. I would not have taken him and would still not take him to the WC if we could go back or going forward until he becomes the starter for River. Dude is and has always been huge Hype. Has the worlds best agents or hype man ever. 25 million and Real Madrid wants him then.... benched for Rivers game haha :)

But I wouldn't have taken 10 of the guys who went to Russia and he was def the least hated of the bunch. That spot is reserved and has been reserved for Carlos Sanchez for the past few years. Sad he didnt go to China and FKd off forever ! Abel going back to Spain..... we really need to get rid of Pekerman or those two asshats are going to be in Qatar as starters. Hopefully Sanchez doesnt give 3 Pks the next time around.

Did you hear why he was in the bench??? muñeco justified since tuesday the choice and explained how would be.....enzo perez that also played 4 matches in wc was sub...the other guys have been in long preparation...

If you was able to wacth the match......(we all know you dont wacth matches) you would discovered how bad played river without him and hoe they wanted to bunker.

Is funny how you make "bold statements, without analysis...without information""........"so he was benched today.......so he is bad haha ha..im crzd and i have reason, depsite i dont wacth football"

That's the thing that @crzdcolombian doesn't get. Most people here were actually very critical of him. I think only a few of us liked him and even I was against him going over Cardona. I wanted to take him but not over Cardona. I think only @HomietheClown stuck with him 100%.

So for him to say we act like he is God or as good as James is BS. Kid proved everyone wrong and Pekerman right.

To still claim he shouldnt have gone is major BS. Kid has been involved in 5 goals in 2 world cups. He's clearly a gamer.

lol 8 years later and we're going back in for Martino? tbf, I think he's a top manager. Don't know if he'd leave MLS.

Carlos Queiroz is a curve ball, I think he managed Portugal a while ago but I don't know too much about him tbh.

yeah I was always a part of the pro Quintero group too but I was very low key about it because I knew about everyones feelings towards him here.

I can be a bit of a pacifist at times.

He failed at Real Madrid I remember that and he wrote the project 2010 for the USA federation. Seeing as they failed to win the cup by 2010 i would say he failed at that as well.

Carlos Queiro is basically Osorio and Pinto put together.

It would be interesting to see what he could do but everyone here would hate him.

De los nombrados: Osorio, Queiroz y Martino, me quedo lejos con Martino.

Martino has already rejected us twice. And his reasoning if I remember correctly was that he did not know anything about our style or our league.

What is our style? Not trying to be a smart@$$ but is our style to grind out results?

No one really knows the answer Could have been 1 or a combination of things. Take for example, considering he's 55 his kids are probably now on their own but 7 years ago that would have been a different ask. These type of decisions have a big impact on anyone's family and I have to imagine that ultimately, if you're asking your family to come with, they have to be somewhat comfortable with where they are heading or/and how their lives are being disrupted. He's doing a bang up job in the MLS with relatively less of a pressure cooker. I wouldnt be shocked if he ends up as the USMNT DT.

I should add....I don't think we have any firmed up style, because even our possession seems to be dwindling.

I agree with that. At 65 though I feel this would be a bit more to fill the immediate need of this current WCQ campaign than it is to find a proper DT that has some longer path.

I was calling for Quintero to start and I have no regrets, our best performance in the whole cycle was with James and Quintero starting together. Having players to unleash James in space and vice versa is when we are at our best.

Queiroz is a defensively minded coach from what I seen him in Iran.

was thinking the same. Also that was a difficult group they were planted in -- Morocco, Spain, Portugal. I watched them play Portugal and
thought they played them pretty well. Organized defensively and took their shots. That being said I think we need to walk before we run. We made a big bet with Pekerman in finally hiring a DT outside of Colombia (I know Bilardo has a shot back in the 80s but I'm referring to our current era).
But Pekerman did have many connections to Colombia, so it wasnt such a distant choice. I think this is why some folks put Gareca's name in the mix at one point.

    Yes.
And from what i have been reading n the Portuguese forums he is more about himself and his ego than he is about the team. He is not a humble guy by any means and I do not believe that is what we need.
