Caicedo seems to be the real deal. Steady, tough, the type of guy that you are glad he's on your team - other players must hate to play against him given his relentness pestering/tackling. Also, he seems to be one of the rare talents whose game succeeds and remains consistent regardless of the state of play of the game around him, or of the level of capability of the team around him. I have watched enough games this season that there's enough of a sample of performances. That is all.
Good article by Julian Cardillo talking about the signing of Machado and the process. He also notes there that he's a green card holder.
BREAKING: My sources claim Ignacio Piatti and $500,000 TAM will be traded to New England Revolution. Impact will get Juan Agudelo, Claude Dielna, one stand from Gillette Stadium, fifth-round USL SuperDraft Pick in 2025 and password to @RevsPrez Twitter account. #IMFC #NERevs #MLS— Michał (@Michallo24) August 6, 2018 Made me laugh out loud. I'd do that trade!
Piatti's on $5 million this year, $4 million next year. No way Kraft is paying $4 million for a DP player that non-MLS fans haven't heard of. :/
I know, but I have seen others wonder if we could trade for Piatti since Montreal is trying to dump his contract to rebuild (supposedly).
Matt Doyle notes that Minnesota sat forward Christian Ramirez this weekend: With Rowe and Dielna being left behind, could one of them possibly be traded to MIN?
MIN recently traded for an international slot (re-acquiring their own slot they had previously traded to COL). They haven't used it yet. They need help on defense, so maybe Dielna makes sense?
Haven't seen a discussion start on this yet. Revs trade away Nemeth to SKC for 100,000 GAM, 250,000 GAM, and 2020 First Round SuperDraft pick. https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/po...sporting-kc-allocation-money-first-round-pick He really never cracked the lineup for his entire time here. I didn't pay attention to his 2015 KC days, so I never understood the excitement around his original signing for us. I barely value him at all, so I'm perfectly happy with this.
Completely agreed with the theory, but Mancienne's always been the guy who plays next to the guy rather than the guy.
They play extremely direct. Nothing wrong with that per se, especially if you're not the type of team that's going to be successful at owning the ball.
Good find! I think nemeth is a good player, but his salary was way bigger than his production. Hopefully he finds the form that made hismlast stint with skc so successful, and the revs use their new intl slot/money to find 1 more move this window
I think there is something to this...both could be on the shopping list but not necessarily to the loons..Christian Ramirez is heading to LAFC
Rumors also abound of juan moving on: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018/08/06/stejskal-juan-agudelo-receiving-interest-spain-turkey He, rowe and nemeth are all guys that dont really move the needle much to me, the team really needs to find a more talented player to start out on the wing. Moving on from nemeth makes sense to open an intl slot, but letting rowe and juan leave, especially without a replacement, feels like it might leqve the squad too thin on mls caliber players.
I agree that the Nemeth deal is a good one... Thanks for occupying an international slot. Hopefully we see somebody that can challenge Juan's starting spot legitimately before either him or Rowe go anywhere for anything but a player that can take Juan's starting spot immediately.
Nemeth gone opens up an international spot and rumors of Juan moving will we see another signing in the next 24hrs?
I dont care about Nemeth and am happy to see him gone BUT we need useful bodies, not money and not useless draft picks. Players that can make a difference now and they don't come cheap. If they move Juan or Rowe for nothing, we really will have dug our own grave.
Nemeth is now the 11th player from last year's roster to be sent packing by Friedel, and the 5th making $500K+. No question he is remaking this roster to his liking.
Agreed - the Revs cannot be "caught off guard" for Juan's contract finishing at end of year. I have never personally felt he would become a stud player based on his history, injuries, etc - but that is based on the Revs. I wonder if a different coach with different players would jump start that. That being said - letting "we got our #9" go on a free is also not good business, so the Revs need to do something smart here.
I'm good with it too - with a $1M contract, he was an anchor on the roster, given that he wasn't able to establish himself as a starter. This seems like a prelude to another deal to me - opens up an international slot, cap room, DP-level salary and collects allocation money the day before the transfer deadline. Hoping so, at least ...
