I just walked up, and brought up the DC United App, and showed the guy my ticket. (All of them are there). Then he asked for the Bar Code. Which took a while. Then he said to wave in front of the scanner. Then he said the scanner at the bottom, not the top. Then he motioned the iPhone under the scanner light. Clearly the weakest part of the app is the bioware interface.
Had absolutely no problem -- saved the tickets to "wallet" scanned both for me and my wife. The ticket I texted to my son also created no problems. This really isn't rocket science and I don't understand where all the problems arose if you planned ahead just a bit. Now, if you don't have a smart phone, then I agree this system is a hardship as @Hedbal noted in another post.
I saved my ticket to my wallet and had zero problem. Ticket scanned on the first attempt. I have a couple memories of getting to RFK after driving up from FXBG and realizing I forgot my ticket. Thankfully as a STH I could go to customer service and they'd give me a replacement.
Ticketmaster allows some e-tickets to be saved to approved virtual wallets. The virtual wallets don't always requiere an internet connection after the ticket is in the wallet which is great when near audi field on your phone. I saved my tickets to Google Pay which used to be Google Wallet.
FWIW, some of the team public wifi locations around the venue were working yesterday. They still have a lot of work to do though.
I used FAM system today to sell back a series of tickets, to get 7 together for my son's 11th birthday. System was smooth, but you lose the season ticket discount. I had to sell back 14 to get 7. And now United can resell my original seats for the higher going rate. On the plus side, I also cancelled one parking reservation is lot H/I (not really app related) and I received purchase price back on my credit card. This is like!
What discount? I thought there was a discount, but my midfield preferred seats have a $50 face according to the terms/info in the app, and that's what I paid per seat.
2 app questions How does in seat ordering work? I could only get to a screen that said I had no orders How are you guys saving things to your wallet/passbook? I don't an option anywhere in the ticketing interface, which w/the lack of good cell service, is kindda necessary.
My seasons were $25 a seat, but the current going rate for the same seat is $44. That discount. I can't re-buy for the same $25.
I'm just making a screen shot of each and storing in my photos. I have done this at Nats, Caps and multiple concerts, with no issues.
Yea, but is that the secondary market? Point is, season tix are always priced below the face value. My Caps tix are like that, my buddies Nats tix are like that and last year's DCU tix were like that. The Ticket Details, list the face as the same price I am paying for them as part of my STM.
Yes, but I still consider that a discount. I can't trade in 14 seats and get 14 new ones at the season ticket price. That is a net loss for me.
Maybe the confusion is in where you are in the app? If you are in the "Manage my Tickets" section you can "Add to apple wallet", but if you go to Add Tickets/Buy Ugrades in the three dots, you have left the Manage my Tickets area and are now in the "FAN HUB". In the Fan Hub, the tickets you get do not have the Apple Wallet functionality.
I am trying to access from My Tickets. My screen looks just like the one that @DecadeOfDCU26 posted, except that the white band at the bottom is empty.
Due to people in my group that are on vacation I've sold (not FAM, but ticketmaster re-sale) a few tickets for tomorrow's and Saturdays game through the website/app and it's worked smoothly. Ticketmaster adds a fee and I get the full amount I asked for if they're sold. The amount should get deposited in my bank account in a week or so. I only asked for the price I paid for the tickets and got buyers within a couple of hours. It probably helps that they're near midfield in the west stands and were cheaper than most other tickets anywhere nearby. Next time if the game is looking like a sellout I might ask for something closer to the going rate. I don't want to rip anyone off but making a little stadium beer money would be nice considering the prices. Anyhow, it may be that you could sell and buy through Ticketmaster at about the same price. No guarantees, and it might be tougher for groups that are bigger than 4 or so, but it's probably something that could work in the future.
You're in 127, right? Ticketmaster lists 2 non-resale tickets in row 7 of that section for $125, and every other non-resale ticket in that section goes for the same price. How are you not getting a discount below face value?
Seems like the cheapest seat you can get trading your tickets for FAM is about $40 or so. Bit of a bummer as it gets expensive to bring friends/family to a match.
Maybe this has been noted before, but here is my experience sending my ticket to me fellow tailgater for Wed night: All of the my tickets are on the app. I selected the ticket for Wednesday night and hit SEND, and then hit the MAIL option. A mail message came up with a standard message of click on the link to access the ticket. I put in my friends email address, BUT there was no SEND button. The bottom half the screen was blank white and there was no BACK button at the top. So I hit the screen a few times and eventually I was able to cancel the SEND, and this time I selected the (Text) Message option. Which worked fine.
