Maybe. We don’t know the facts yet. Milan could offer him a huge pay increase. He may view his job at arsenal not challenging anymore. Commercial deals are on the rise, arsene is out, power is spread around instead of in a single point of failure.

I’d be surprised that he’d want to go so soon, but I’ll reserve judgement until I know more.

Gazidis leaving is weird: he’s the CEO of one of the ten biggest clubs in the world, just won a huge power struggle, and brought all his own people in.

Now he’s leaving for what appears to be a mess in Milan. Can really only mean a few things:

    1. He’s been offered an absurd amount of money to run Milan. This seems like an odd hypothesis- little evidence to suggest Gazidis is worth that kind of cash.

    2. He’s got some personal loyalty to the new ownership group. Maybe, but these guys appear to be short term investors.

    3. Behind the scenes situation at Arsenal is FUBAR.

I think it might be because he lacks the skills to take Arsenal further so he wants to go back to down to a troubled club which he can straighten out by using what he learned at Arsenal

    4. Gazidis is actually the last guy who also needed to be exited

To me this is terrible news. Ivan, in my opinion has done great the past few years. And in all honesty, we all remember him saying we would compete with the likes of Bayern, etc. I think this was the plan all along to do so. Hire great staff to handle the main things like scouting, etc, get a new coach, all of which he has done. But I have to wonder if this was the plan all along. What if Josh Kroenke was actually the one calling the shots from back then? What if the plan was for Gazidis to move on and for Josh to move in? What is this was all intentional?

    What has he actually done?

Arsenal revenue simply rose on the rising tide. He hasn't developed any special partnerships or revenue streams.

For instance Bayern have been super active building their presence in the US.

Arsenal has been doing the usual.

I really don’t care about Gazidis potentially leaving.

He hasn’t done anything except ride the wave of being Arsenal in London in the Premier League.

He isn’t innovative or creative. He basically has done what everyone else has done but 2 years later.

Im talking about recently bringing in Mislintat, Sanhelni and the other guys as well as Emery. Also, getting Wenger out. Surely that must count for something!

I'm completely indifferent to Gazidis leaving, but if Ramsey leaves I think that really sets us back.

Depends on whether that means someone else is coming in. Lot of N'Zonzi rumours around again today.

I don't care if Gazidis is leaving, except for the why of it: suggests that something is broken at Arsenal.

CEOs don't leave jobs like Arsenal immediately after having won a power struggle.

He couldn't control Wenger and was happy with how things were going. I have no issues at all with him leaving. It will be interesting to see who goes with him though.

I'm not so sure he is leaving by his own volition. It seems obvious that Josh Kroenke is being primed to be the main executive.

Who said that he won? We just know that Wenger lost.

Ya maybe u are right. We’ve long complained about being a half step behind on the commercial side. The question is do you trust Kroenke to appoint a more capable successor?

The way all those press conferences in April and May went down? They certainly felt like Gazidis was taking a victory lap.

Do you think that it's a coincidence that baby Kroenke comes in to audit the club and then the coach and CEO are leaving?

Billionaires keep their assets in the family. He obviously is being groomed to run their enterprise, and I suspect that his influence on Arsenal will be no different than his on his daddy's other sport teams. Why else put your son on the board in the first place?

    Or...

You think it was josh that moved the rams back to LA?

That’s pretty shrewd. What else has he done good/badly. Honestly, I have no idea.

It's relatively common practice in the NFL, with the Rooney family being the best example, but the Patriots, Chargers, Cowboys, Bears, Cardinals and 49ers all have sons of their owners running the teams.

Wow, so bored with no footy right now. I’m the most excited for the new season since the summer of ozil and not even the transfer market is keeping me entertained.

I really thought there would be a lot of movement after the WC, but ZzZZ. And then 5 days with no preseason game.

Yeah, even the rumors the British "press" are putting out are pretty lame right now. I was hoping for much more movement.

I honestly expected a mad house with the truncated window and the money floating around and the WC delay.

Bailey & Dembele links picking up steam. Barca just signed Malcom which has prompted Dembele to get a bit antsy.
