I also read about that. And I get y'all point of view. I guess I'm just putting mine behind the stock market impact, the fan change on social media, his 300 million followers, Juve's more than 180 millions fans worldwide, Italy's biggest signing and so on. Perhaps we'll get more insight on the matter as the season runs through.
Hahaha, what a idiot the writer is. First of all did they sell 520K directly or not? Which already makes a huge difference in revenue. Secondly how much does Adidas get and how much Juventus? I read somewhere that its around 30% for the club, so that would make around 20M for those 520K shirts. 54M they say.. lmao.
I don't even believe juventus gets 30%. If they are getting that high a percentage they aren't getting much from their yearly deal. It makes literally no sense to give a high percentage then pay millions each year in endorsement fees. They are really trying to build this up. Our media did the same thing attempting to say we paid the then exorbitant fee just through shirt sales.
The figure journalists give in France is that club gets 10-15% of jerseys sale at most. And a bit more when they are sold from stores owned by clubs if it's included in the contract they signed with the sponsor (and not 10% more, but 1% or 2%). And of course they have to always debunk the undying fake fact that jerseys sales can pay a transfer. A source for the 10-15% max > https://www.sofoot.com/la-verite-sur-le-business-des-ventes-de-maillots-233086.html
Agree. If they sell the shirts in stores owned by Juventus I think 20 - 30% is quite normal. From indirect sales tho that number is way too high. Would think around 10%. Which makes this writer a total idiot. And this guy is a journalist? smh...
I can almost see it next season. Ronaldo scores the equalizing goal in the final vs Madrid, points at Perez. Scores the winning goal in penalty shoot-out and falls down the floor crying and gets up asking for forgiveness ala James.
I can see Ronaldo going on vacation in February when juve wins another scudetto and leaves the CL in the 1/8
So he apparently hinted at playing against Real in ICC tournament on 8/4 in DC. May have to make the trip down for the game. Even if he doesn't play, thats the closest Real will be to me.
Clubs get about 10 to 15 Euro per shirt sold after costs, taxes, transportation, retail etc. etc. Back when we signed James it was the same trash that he paid with his transfer because we sold so and so many thousand James shirts in South America.
Did he? I think he said his first game will be in the league on that 12th or 14th of August (cant remember exactly) and that he's gonna be on vacation until the end of July.
Yikes, seeing him in a Juventus shirt is really eye cancer. Any other club (except Barca) would have been better. Why couldn't it have been Milan or Inter?
Because he only joins the best club within their respective league. You have to realize he's selfish; he wants to win - that's all that matters. Loyalty means little to him.
I read something before that said most clubs make around 10% of the value of the shirt, the kit manufacturer obv take most of the money
For a while I thought I would like him to see go back to ManU and reunite with Jose. But that would make him more of a ManU than Madrid player possibly, so don't like it. Strange how PSG didn't want him, maybe we could have included him in some deal about Mbappe or Neymar.
That would piss their little princess Neymar off so I highly doubt they would willingly unsettle the team. I'm sure they thought about it though.
They would still get to keep one of Neymar or Mbappe. Neymar/Mbappe + Ronaldo would make them CL favorites imo. I think Neymar respects Ronaldo a lot.
I heard Juve is travelling to the States on the 23rd but Ronaldo will still be on vacation then. He did say he's ready to play their first league game but I don't think he specified it as being his first game. In anyway, I'd bet on him missing the game against us.
I am not sure, and too lazy to check, but i think he was asked when he will play the first game for Juve and the first league game was his answer.
Took me a while to come back on here and post on this thread... What a blow to us true Madridistas. Every good thing must come to an end, eventually. I'm just extremely disappointed it had to happen now. He still has a few great years left in him, I know it. OBRIGADO, from the bottom of my heart! These past 9 years have been the most beautiful football I've ever witnessed. An incredible story, an amazing career at Real Madrid and I will never forget the GOAT. I wish you the best of luck with Juventus and I'm sure he will once again, prove that he can do it in any league in the world. Privileged to have witnessed this freak of nature, this mesmerizing athlete play for the all white. I will be cheering you on, except when you're playing against Real Madrid. Força Campeao!
