Been hearing that for years now, the rest of the teams don't seem to know how or want to get their shit together. Each year its a one horse race because everyone else is a mess.

They wouldn't go after golden balls Messi but they would take Neymar and then proclaim they made him better than Barca ever could.

Ronaldo to Juve screams "All in for the CL." Nothing more, nothing less. If the world is lucky that will fail and Madrid will suck (for them) for a couple years in rebound.

France are essentially playing Mourinho-ball. Yet Deschamps isn't getting pilloried the way Mourinho does. Why not?

Was wondering the same thing myself. And I think it's because France continue to win and advance. If that were to stop, the daggers would come (back) out?

Nah France actually tries to move the ball quickly and attack. Still if it was club football it would be horrible. But, defence wins tournaments.

Because Mourinho does it year-in, year-out for 50 games a season. Deschamps is doing it for 7.

I don't follow Deschamps or France in any way but something tells me that he isn't just trotting out this conservative, more defensive style for just this WC. Most likely it's in his DNA.

Even granting that, you still don't see France play as often as you see Mourinho's teams play.

And France had a 4-3 win against Argentina 11 days ago. They aren't constantly grinding out 1-0 wins.

The 4-3 was a bit of an aberration. In this tournament they've played 6 matches and their GD is +6, so on average they're just barely winning matches, at least as far as scoring goes.

That said, they were clearly the favorites in the final 4.

I suppose I'm rooting for England to play them in the Final.

The days of fluid international football have been over for years

France are playing the standard way with a fluid pair of wingers providing creativity

No surprise that Southgate sticks with the same XI for this huge game. Would LOVE to see Sterling break his very large duck.

Would love to see either of:

    1. Croatia in the final, OR
    2. Nigel Farage attempting to celebrate Raheem Sterling scoring.

Steady now. Remember when Ray Houghton scored a wonder strike for Ireland v. Italy and everyone in the Irish tricolors realized afterward: they're going to get hammered for the rest of the game.

Long way to go for England but it's looking good already.

If Kane wins the golden boot, Real will go all out to get him.

If I were a S***s fan, I'd be deathly afraid of Real making that move.

Anyone up for Rebić? Young, cheap winger.

He has impressed this World Cup, but I think there could be quite a battle for his signature.

I love watching the England fans celebrate. They throw more beer in the air than the Mexicans and they have the appearance as if they've never really celebrated before. :D

Ozil stayed at Arsenal, and you finished 6th. Plus, of course, Hazard stayed last time we finished out of the CL places.
I do take your assessment that we're a "joke team" as the objective commentary it was meant to be :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Mourinho did get shit for playing that way at Real when he had so much offensive talent. That's why Deschamps is getting stick - he has a ton of creative players and he's using Giroud up top with Matuidi on the wing and Pogba as a DM.
