Theoretically. Today it wasn’t much better than what Denmark put out there.

 

Unfortunately Croatia is already has a disadvantage against Russia since Russia will be better rested and has home advantage.

 

Crazy shootout. I'm glad Croatia won, they were the better team, just not as good as everyone thought. Denmark rose to the occasion as well. Didn't play a boring game as everyone was expecting. Schmeichel is an incredible keeper.

Now I'm not so sure Croatia is such a big favourite against Russia anymore. Crazy WC.

 

Because of a new rule that accidental dogso in the area is a yellow not a red. The ref evidently thought it was a legit challenge for the ball (I agree since he got the ball) so the contact was accidental.

 

It looks likely to be the single worst game of the entire tournament.

 

No sympathy for Ronaldo or Messi. Only Luka Modric

Amazing performance by the danish goalkeeper, at the end I almost wished the Danes would qualify just for his sake. Overall I still think the best team went through. I hope the next teams to play will be able to avoid the penalties round, once in a while it can be fun but I would rather see lively game such as France Argentina going forward.

 

Hopefully Croatia will go from strength to strength it would be great to see a smaller team winning it

 

Nothing in this WC will ever top France-Denmark. That match was an embarrasment.

 

Croatia played three joke teams in group stage, today was their first serious game and they were far from the title contender people were making of them.

Anyway, they should make semis because they play another weak team next.

I see a common denominator here...

 

I'm much more confident for Russia game than I was for today's game. Croatia will beat Russia in regular time. I say this without underestimating Russia. Today's game was the real challenge and they survived it.

I predicted it as well. I said we will have 2 Slavic Nations in the quarter-finals and one in the semi-finals. But I didn't say which teams. But deep down I had Croatia going to semi-finals. These predictions will materialize now.

 

Bad but i think deserved win. We played more than a match here. We were dead...

 

Why better rested? Both teams played on the same day. Both went to penalties. I don't see why Russians will be rested more.

 

We are not a favorite but don't forget we have a jekill and hyde kind of team...you never know with us.

 

Croatia would have absolutely destroyed Peru. Peru doesn't have the quality to play at this level.
Don't confuse lots of energy with quality.

 

Denmark making it a tough game.
Croatia are favourites for the game against Russia by a long shot.
I think the majority of the world want to see Croatia at the final at least because they are a very good football team.

 

Denmark was better than the oppositions we had but they also took benefit from our fear about knock out stages since the nightmare against turkey 1/4 euro 2008.
You don't realize what it means for us to stay alive from this. We felt cursed.
