I called Germany going out in the first round, but is it really going to happen? Wow!

 

Penalty and stuff like that is their only hope to turn it around to a 2-1. This German team won't score two goals out of normal play.

 

Marciniak and Neuer keep Germany alive. Meanwhile Sane on the beach happy his vacation has not been spoiled by Loew...

 

Give me Germany out give me Brazil out against Serbia and I'm a happy man. World Football needs new Footballing powers not the traditional ones.

 

A mentality issue is what Germany and Argentina are suffering right now.

 

Neuer made an absolute mess of the Swedish goal.

He needs to either come out early enough to smother the shot, or stay on his line and trust that his defender will be good enough to force a weak shot (which is what happened in this case).

If Neuer stays on his line, he saves Toivonen's shot easily (much like the S.Korean keeper would have saved Chicharito's shot easily had he also stayed on his line and trusted his defender).

 

1-0 Sweden is the best thing that could happen to Mexico.

Both Mexico and Sweden qualify with Mexico with the goal differental.

Sweden, park that bus.

 

And give me Argentina out as well.

I want to see a new WC winner!

 

The way things are right now Sane and Icardi feel some relief.

 

So, on the short list of players whose reputations are taking a beating this World Cup:

Toni Kroos

I don't watch a lot of Madrid other than during the Champions League, but it did get a bit tiring reading about the superb Madrid midfield of Modric and Kroos. But Kroos is simply sucking this past game and a half. Maybe he's just Modric's bitch and we should more readily acknowledge the genius that is Luka Modric..

 

Perhaps if Sane had showed anything in the warm up games he could be at the WC instead of "enjoying" the beach
