Lost the spot for decently priced tickets for the opener; a friend who had to get both tickets went online too late and now the minimum is $120 or up. Ain't going to do that, this is really a bad moment for a lot of things. I'll miss it and amen.
I see that... And thats wrong- but they are behind and have no choice. You are not supposed to drive heavy equipment on it for at least a week. It will be interesting to see if these pours get early cracking, or that exposed aggregate 'scalding/spalling' look. Thats from not letting it cure properly before using it (driving/walking/etc)
Before I noticed the caption that all of the photos and renderings were credited to "South Capitol Bridge Builders," I was starting to think I need a tour of the bridge site. //all photos from this past Saturday
Heh. That walk won't be too bad, really. If you get lost, it's your own fault! Also, I just checked the website to see how parking sales are going. The $825 lot just south of AF is sold out, as is the H/I lot that was the cheapest. Everything else still looks to be available.
FFS... after about a week concrete reaches 80% hardiness (depends on the application- as little as 3 days, up to a week). It takes a full 3+ weeks to reach 100% The jobsite is clearly rushed- they are just going with 80% and then utilizing the surface, because they cannot wait...and risking early cracking/spalling in an effort to finish on time.
That's pretty bad. I guess they can repair, but that will obviously cost the new owner some money. I hope it doesn't put the rest of the structure at risk.
The first rows on the west stand are not dry. They are coated with a light gray material that doesn't look wet like bare concrete. Possibly as waterproofing for occupied spaces underneath.
Just bought a pass in lot H/I. $20 a game for 15 games with the ability to cancel before the game for a refund seemed like a no brainer to me. Lot is on the far side of Nats Park, just a 1/2 mile walk.
There were a lot of reasonably priced lots over there. It also seems like more entertainment that way too. I just went with the close lot because my wife and kids would complain less about the walk and it appears I may be able to set up a small grill and chairs in my parking spot.
Hmmm, people who went to buy yesterday said that lot had disappeared from the list, thinking was that it was sold out.
I hope they aren't really strict on the lot open 1 hour before game time. That is a buzzkill if real.
yeah, that does seem really weird - and makes the deal way less good. I did not see that detail in any of the pre-sale information for that lot, but I could have missed it - if I had seen it I would have looked harder at some of the other lots less than $500 Do people in other lots than H/I have that note on their parking reservations .. "after 6pm"? There's no way I can time my arrival that exactly due to possible traffic issues from Loudoun. I don't feel like driving around the block waiting on 6 if I happen to get there easily instead of hitting regular traffic delays. I highly doubt United is on-the-ball enough to get people into the stadium within an hour of arrival and walking there, at least for the opening game. Plus, I'll still have to go to a will-call or ticket office to get a ticket even though I've bought season tickets, assuming they stick with their vile idea to not have tickets.
Mine says "After 6pm". But on the bright side ... the game times in July and Aug were changed to 8pm ... seems no one told Parking Panda ... so we've got 2 hrs before kick-off
I'm looking at my seat location (sect 127 row 16) - looks to me like the concrete under my seat is dry ... the concrete a few rows lower down is definitely wet.
