On your first point, part of the impression about Spain not stepping on the pedal was when they subbed out D. Costa when they took the lead. On your second point, while I have seen better counterattacking sides, I agree that Portugal is up there among the better ones.

Still, in the end, after just one game (exception Egypt and Russia) its hard to judge any team at this point of the tournament.

Spain thought they had it in the bag but it looks like they have some defensive issues themselves. Again way too early to tell.

Few more hours till Spaniards show their real offensive power and Portuguese to show their defensive skills. Can Iran stay on top of group B? Do you watch Morocco coming back to the race? Wait and see.

I only guess Spain will leave a trail of blood.

Only 4 hours until Portugal vs Morocco. I wish Morocco comes out strong and at least gets a draw.
Iran vs Spain is also gonna be a good game. The thing is we have no fear of Spaniards now. Our players are very confident. We know the chances that we lose are high but I know we will fight to the end. If we get a result then that's a great thing. But even if we lose, we still habe our chances. No one can be sure of the results. Cause if we knew, the result would havebe been agreed upon, before the match starts and no oneone spends so much money and time doing what everyone knows the end of. This is all the matter of chances. Spain has much higher chances to win. There is slim chance we get a result. There might even be a teeny tiny bit of a chance we beat Spain. Either way, anything is possible and the game starts 0-0. Let's see what happens

I will stick to my prediction from before for the Portugal-Morocco match: 2:2 draw. And a good game by both sides.

2:0 for Morocco until the last 5 minutes, Ronaldo scores two.

What a perfect match up :)

    These two are an embarrassment.

Between the two squads they have taken 24 ( TWENTY FOUR ) players who were NOT actually born in EITHER country .

This game is more suited to the champions league than the WC .

of course it would be cronaldo. who else. this is rather frustrating... our chances have already been diminished because 1 man is in crazy form and he single-handedly makes all the difference so he puts his face near the morocco players boot risking getting his eye and face getting cut open just to score. you will not find another player in world football that does that. this is why i said morocco should defend so they do not give him these chances. instead they conceded a free kick early on and pay the price. cronaldos goal differential is higher than Irans even though at this point Irans goal differential is higher than portugal other than cronaldo, so even if we tie spain we have to chase the game against portugal, which as i said from the beginning will be a disaster for Iran.

no point in watching the rest of this game. moroccos attack is toothless they wont score, if anything they will just concede more goals on the break.

we now have to hope that we score on the counter against spain and somehow spain doesnt score againt us. this will be difficult, but less difficult than chasing the game against portugal. we dont really have luck. we need to beat the best team in the world to advance... even after we won our opening match. our chances got screwed by the most in form player in the world. of 31 teams we get these 2 in our group lol which means we have to beat spain to advance.. meanwhile lucky teams like russia have to beat saudi and egypt to advance.. and pretty much all the other groups there is much less disparity between teams. our best chance to go to Rof16 gets shat on like this due to pure bad luck. shame.. i really wanted to see how we would play against portugal if it was neutral and not us having to chase the game... it would have been such a different game. but you know if i was CQ i would still go for the draw against portugal... cronaldo would still force his teammates to attack regardless of what the coach says because he wants the golden boot...haha.

so even if we get 5 points in this group it wont be enough because the worlds best offense, and the world current best player would have scored more goals than us.

    spain 5
    portugal 5
    Iran 5
    morocco 0

The American referee is clearly biased. He’s been giving all the 50-50 calls to Portugal.

maybe an Iranian loss against spain will be a blessing in disguise, in case uruguay beats russia, portugal might want to avoid uruguay and go for the win against Iran. the uruguay vs russia game is just before Iran vs portugal so portugal would know whether or not they need to get 3 points against Iran to avoid uruguay or not.

At this point, if i was Portugal, i want to avoid Russia.

well one thing is for sure... regardless if it is russia or uruguary, portugal will 100% have to have cronaldo bail them out otherwise you will get knocked out. your team has not impressed at all outside of cronaldo. definitely not a top 5 side overall... it is even questionable if this portugal side is a top 10 side without cronaldo. before the tournament i heard all sorts of things about other players like andre silva, but they have all been invisible.

The referee is now blocking shots for Portugal. What an embaressment for FIFA. The guy has no business officiating this match.

whats funny is that portuguese fans criticized Iran for playing defensive against morocco.... and now portugal is hanging on for dear life vs morocco... the euro champions playing bunker ball against morocco. absolutely embarrassing.
