WC 2018 Group B: Spain Portugal Iran Morocco

Where is this guy? Iran is the winner, Morocco is the loser. Know your place.

 

You really need to take a step back. That win was really out of nowhere, came from an own goal and after Iran had practically conceeded the game.

It was a bit freak.

So please - some modesty.

 

To be honest, neither team looked great at all. I do think Iran was slightly the better side for most of the game, although Morocco had a few great spells, and maybe deserved the narrow win, but really I do not see either of them surviving the group stages.

Iran did well to bunker, and counter, and had a few chances before that they should have scored, but seriously its not like Morocco really tested them that much. I remember like 3 good shots and even those were not shots that most goalkeepers wouldn't save. I saw a lack of communication from both teams, and neither of them seemed to know where their teammates are on the field. I expect Spain and Portugal to go through comfortably.

Congrats to Iran national team and all Iranians. This was our second win in the World Cup history. I am extremely happy and emotional. Again Congrats. Now time to focus on next games.

Congrats for playing fair and good football. I know how you feel now. Two minutes before we score, I said to myself that goalless draw should be fair and It will not make any Moroccan and Iranian sad. However It was our fate to win this game which does not really mean that we are better than you. I love you all Moroccan brothers and wish you the best.

 

I support North African teams, but they are not 'my team'.
And no - you didn't own anyone. You won. Fair and square, but really - some modesty. And if anything Iranians need to know how to be good winners.

Congratulations to Iranians on the win! Iranian fans are passionate and really deserved it.
But as for the team, goodness gracious that was awful football, I thought Iran was more offensive and could finish now, I saw no evidence of that.

Morocco is eliminated and a lack of finishing has all but ended there WC.

With Iran winning and looking awful doing it and Morocco losing, Portugal and Spain look assured to love on from this group.

What a win. 4 players completely out of position and we still beat Morocco. Lol I expected so much more from the Moroccan team after their friendlies and the status of their players. Amine Harit is the most wasteful player lacking a football brain and wasted so many good chances for Morocco.

After the first 20, Morocco suddenly lost the ability and intensity and Iran was the slightly better team for the rest of the game. Iran should have built on that for the second half but they sat back and allowed Morocco back into the game. So because of this, a draw was probably the most deserved result. But Iran stole the lucky winner in the end.

While it was a close game and I would say the two teams were overall pretty equal, I am sorry but all the Moroccans who thought they are way better than Iran like the Laurent75 guy, I hope your delusions were brought back down to Earth. Us real Iranian fans know that our team isn't anywhere near world class but we play with heart and we are capable of the upset- as you saw today.

I must also say that as much as I love Iran and I see every opponent as the enemy, really respect to Morocco's team and its people. Belhanda aside, so much sportsmanship and fair play. It is a reflection of your beautiful culture and people. I actually for the first time felt bad for an opposing team after seeing players like Ziyech go to the ground disappointed. I wish you guys luck going forward and I am sure you can do something against Spain or Portugal.

 

Did you watch that match? Dreadful football. Not sure how one can claim to own another team being dominated all match and winning on an own goal.
Though I'd agree that Morocco was fully toothless.

 

They were not toothless. They were made toothless. This is what we always do. Besides we missed to one on one chances.
At the end of the day we one and no one cares it was with an own goal or ten goals. If heyou hadn't scored the own goal Taremi would!

I had expected less from Spain. They look deadly.

 

I find it amazing that people like gfx_bq1 who were talking smack about Iran and Iran’s chances for months here, saying Iran will go without a single point, are now all of sudden a fan of the beautiful game and an expert on how matches should be played and won by the same Iranian players whose determination and ability they disrespected and underestimated. You have no right to talk shit , or comment on how Iran plays, when you were saying all along that Iran will go out with 0 points, disrespecting Iran as a competitive team. Iran had a clear plan and won 3 points. For that reason, Iran was the superior team. Football is not about how many nice passes you put together and how much of the ball you have , it’s about result. Show some respect.
