You don't seem to get it. It is only illegal when it doesn't benefit them. Otherwise it is great. It really isn't that difficult.
http://www.gocolumbialions.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9600&ATCLID=3689157 Commisso Stadium and the neighboring football stadium have come up when people were looking for "city" locations for both the Cosmos and the pre-expansion second MLS team. Not particularly realistic, but pretty much every existing stadium got the once over.
As expected, the magistrate judge split the difference and (taking the NASL's fallback position) set the completion date for all discovery in the antitrust case as April 30, 2019 As expected, the magistrate judge split the difference and (taking the NASL's fallback position) set the completion date for all discovery in the antitrust case as April 30, 2019 pic.twitter.com/SIT3UgI8qK— Steven Bank (@ProfBank) June 8, 2018
Wait... seems to me that a decision for the 2019 season will need to have been made by long before that. Or, are all of Commiso's eggs in the lawsuit basket?
That 1 stadium is a college stadium that the owner donated money to in order to get his name on the stadium.
They could, if they prevail, start with their fall season in 2019. Otherwise, 2020, which they said would give them a chance to restart without too much time passing.
Isn't that kind of quick? End of discovery to judgement with time enough to put a league together for 19? Somehow I doubt they're putting together a list of folk willing to jump into things right now because who would commit themselves to the chaos of the myriad possibilities?
They wouldn’t have enough time for 19. And 2020 is a long way away. The few fans they have left will have moved on by then.
Cosmos B also play at a college stadium that the owner donated money to in order to get his name on the stadium but it's too small for a first team.
Ricardo Silva met with Beckham today "about the future of soccer in Miami"... Could MLS be on the verge of kicking the legs out from under the anti-trust case by giving one of its backers a seat at MLS's table? On a great day for the @united2026 Bid, @_Riccardo_Silva and David Beckham discussed the future of soccer in #Miami. pic.twitter.com/zp3r6ZuOiY— Silva International (@Silva_Intl) June 13, 2018
No. Rocco is still involved. It probably isn't a coincidence that Silva has been mostly silent on the anti-trust case.
Right up until the point that Miami FC starts dominating the league a la TFC and NYCFC. Adding Silva to that Investor Group...........makes an already top 2 richest in MLS (one of the richest in the world already) even richer, and they haven't even kicked a f'n ball or found a place to play yet!!
