When the USA hosts international sporting tournaments, it has always issued the appropriate visas for visiting fans. I doubt that even Trump, despite his immigration policies, is going to give people a hard time on visas for sporting events. There are various agreements already in place between countries on matters like that. That particular fear is unfounded.

Tell this to the people in the FIFA forum on big soccer.
They seem to think Iranian fans are going to be stranded at airports. Stupid if you ask me.

They do understand that even if Trump gets reelected he'll be out of office by then anyway right?

They seem to understand that but still have weird theories and conjecture as to how his policies will continue. Maybe even tinfoil conspiracy like theories I don't even want to ask about.

I suspect the reason, as it has always been with FIFA, was money. More countries means more money. Look at the changes to the Euros, now going across Europe. Joint bids will soon become the norm.

FIFA has awarded the WC to South Africa, Russia, and Qatar. They don't care about anything except if the bribe money looks clean to the Swiss banks, who themselves rarely ask questions anyway.

The Canada-USA-Mexico bid lists 49 stadiums in its 2026 proposal. Mexico seems all set; Canada will surprise me if it doesn't just pick Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal; and the US is going to be a total free-for-all amongst these 34 cities.

    Mexico
    Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Mexico City

    Canada
Montreal (2), Ottawa, Toronto (2), Regina, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver

    USA
Atlanta, Baltimore, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas (2), Denver, Detroit, Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles (3), Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Jose, Seattle, Tampa, Washington DC

So, how is FIFA going to give 2026 to Morocco? Anyone want to take a guess?

I was 9 the first time and we couldn't afford to go. This time I'll be 41 and I'll be going to every game I can.

I am going to go to games in Miami and Orlando.
I already love vacationing in Florida as it is. Now I can go to the beach after watching a World Cup????

Who is up for a potential USA Round of 16 game on July 4, 2026? Our nation's 250th birthday.

You need to think bigger. I’m thinking the final vs England.

Tickets prices for that would be through the roof.
Kinda hoping it is in Philly or DC if it happens. Would be that much more fun.

Anything other than such a game being played in Philly would be a travesty.

Well there would have to be two options since it is not guaranteed the USA would top the Group so DC would be the other good option in my book.

Due to a level of uncertainty with scheduling knockout rounds, I was kind of using tongue-in-cheek.

I would point out, to all those who are with apparent straight face "fearing" that Trump will be denying visas to the exuberant fans of many upstanding nations at the 2026 World Cup, that Trump will not be President during the 2026 World Cup. ..... Think about it.

I would be all for that game as well. However, the Round of 16 games usually are played in early July so this might happen. It should be noted that July 4, 2026 is on a Saturday as well. If we advance, this has the potential to be a rocking day. Circle your calendars.
