it is one thing to play left back and another to play center back. center back is a much more sensitive position, perhaps the most sensitive of all.

you are going to fall into a trap against Iran. unless CQ has other ideas, we will give you possession, defend, then hit you on the counter. your strikers seem too toothless to score. so you will hold meaningless possession against us while we will get the result.

but nobody knows what CQ is going to do. maybe he will go all out attack against morocco trying to get a goal then defend.

Alright, but not at the top level of some other Moroccan players. However, he had a nice touch to assist the goal scored by Belhanda and had some lively moves.

It is possible, but I don't see you doing anything against Portugal and Spain, for sure we have much more chances to shine against them than you.

Tunisia really giving Spain a game. Given Morocco is better...

Well given you guys will play the more attractive football against them.

But the results will matter in the end.

I'll take a 0-0 vs Portugal playing ugly getting Ronaldo to rant about small teams parking the bus like he did in the Euros vs.
    Losing 2-1 and playing atractively.

The way Tunisia is hacking Spain and not letting the game flow for more than 30 seconds is likely what we will be trying

Tunisia is playing a similar game plan as Iran, closing down all spaces and neutralizing Spain's attacks. They are probably executing it better than Iran is currently doing, but it is proving difficult for Spain to break them

How many small teams did succeed doing this in world cup games ? Let's even say, mention me small teams which tried to play defensive in world cups and managed to reach the quarter finals for example.

Costa Rica 2014.(went thru past Italy and England using a 5-3-2 high line defensive af)

Greece 2014(went thru over the clearly superior Ivorians, few attacks. )

Turkey 2002(they were not playing Tiki Taka let me tell you)

USA 2010(parked against England, counter only vs Slovenia and Algeria)

USA 2014.(parked vs Portugal/Germany/Ghana. Ghana clearly the better side).

USA 2002(Portugal again. Mexico beaten in R16. Denied a goal that should have stood vs Germany in QF).

Highlight me teams that played beautifully vs elite teams and came out better than the above results.

They reached the R16. He wanted examples of defensive tactics working for small teams. Getting out of group=succeeding. Which is what Irans aim is this world cup. Morocco should aim for QF and do it the way they want.

I'll wait to hear which teams played beautifully and if they got farther than the above

being toothless to score means that Iran should try and play offensive play against us or it will end as a draw , defensive play is against top level strikers and teams only . and as you see today morocco under pressing will struggle too. we are not that perfect team yet tbh.

the worst scenario for both Iran and Morocco in first round , is a draw result in two games.

i can say that the only result that im sure of it , is my team Morocco will not lose to Spain ( Draw or maybe a Win ) , we know each other very well and its a Derby + ( 6 players plays in Spain ) & very much like style of play.

The way you guys are so sure of the results, we might as well not even have the WC. Let Germany play Brazil in the final and wrap this up quickly.

75% of the posts here are Team A beat Team B 6 months ago, and we are stronger than team A, therefore we will beat Team B.

I get everyone is excited and trying to pass time for the next few days, but let the professionals do their job and just sit back an enjoy the beautiful game.

People put way too much stock into these friendlies. France just tied the US, Germany lost to Austria last week. Today a lot of the games looked like players not wanting to get hurt. Nice to talk about I guess, but how some of you come up with conclusions based on these...well we will see I suppose.

After having watched Spain-Tunisia I think there is a realistic chance that Morocco can hold his own against Spain. Tunisia's relentless pressing made Spain looking toothless for almost the entire game. At the end Tunisia got tired and Spain had a few chances and scored eventually the goal. Spain found it surely very nasty to play such a sturdy side. But as Spain-Morocco is on Matchday 3 the match and outcome will be heavily influenced by how the table looks like after two matchdays.

Morocco isn’t better than Tunisia and the last decade is a witness to that!
