meh... I remember this USA v Argentina game in 2005 well. The US beat both Argentina and Germany if I'm not mistaken in the opening game... Adu even showed up Messi in the meeting between the two... amazing the different paths their careers would go after that.
Jeez, what happened to that kid? I've never seen that before, and I don't know that I've ever seen another US player put together that many successful 1 v 1 moves in a game, let alone 42 minutes..
I'm afraid to look. I can only assume I said something really stupid like Adu on his worst day is better than Messi on his best day--or maybe something even worse. I remember watching an FC Dallas game with Mike Renshaw and Cooper Sr. back in the day and I told them how great I thought Adu was. Both of them nearly laughed me out of the stadium. But I thought I knew better. Maybe it's time for a name change...
That was pure hype. Adu was absolutely anonymous. Benny was our top player by a huge margin. The next best was Wynne as far as I remember.

Nobody doubted a motivated and focused Freddy, but these games were so few and far in between at that point in his career.

59' | THIRD SUB OF THE NIGHT➡️ Nico Samayoa (Lights FC debut)⬅️ Daigo Kobayashi#PHXvLV— Las Vegas Lights FC (@lvlightsfc) June 14, 2018 No Freddy this evening. Lights down 2-0.
No, he has slowly earned semi-regular minutes and occasionally starts. He had a long way to go with his fitness and he has improved.
Just got into Nevada and turned on the TV to find LV Lights vs Sounders 2 but don't see Adu. And as I say that, LV scores off some direct play to make it 4-1 for LV. For those who know, is Cashman Field where they usually play and is the pitch as narrow as it appears on TV?
Freddy played 28 minutes last night. It was mostly mop-up duty as the Lights were already up 4-1 when he came in at ‘62. He had a breakaway where he tried to catch the keeper off his line that he’d like to have back. A couple giveaways. But more risk taken. Sometimes confidence shows when it doesn’t come off perfectly. But, considering the scoreline I liked his aggression. He is confident enough to keep the ball now that he risks mistakes. It’s still a guy on the comeback trail, but he has bought in and he deserves credit for that. Good progress has hiccups and he has rarely been given that opportunity before, if ever really. Regarding his post, I know so many people in my life who love El Tri and congratulations is the only word.
Freddy did not get off the bench today as the Lights went down to Swope Park 3-2. 3-1 down, Ochoa scored in the 87’, Mendiola was fouled in the box in the 94’, and with a chance for a road point this happened: What. A. Finish!@SwopeRangers hold on to take all three points and move into fourth out West.#SPRvLV #USL pic.twitter.com/u4Pt3DNPAC— USL Championship (@USLChampionship) June 24, 2018
