It happens when your better attacking players keep getting injured. They have had 2 season ending injuries already, in the attacking corps.
It comes down to whether or not the ref thought it was a goal to begin with. If he did, and if it wasn't a clear and obvious error, it would stand. Either way, it was weird. The players certainly didn't think they scored.
