I think I remember someone mentioning something about sponsoring one of the American players on Fulham.

I just checked the site, most of th starters have sponsors, but neither Boca or McBride have a sponsor.

How much does player sponsorship cost?

Could we do something through this or the other website and pool some cash together to do our duty as americans and support our countrymen?

This idea has been bounced around. It costs in the area of $700 to sponsor a player. I think one of the things we were going to try to do through Fulham USA would be to sponsor a player. I will put out a feeler email to see if some of the other members would be interested in doing this. I think it would be great for Fulham USA. If you do not know what Fulham USA is, it is an American based Supporters Club for Fulham. It is not specifically for McBride and Bocanegra, we are fans of the club, not just fans of the Americans. If anyone is interested in becoming a part of the club, email me at twille@halldata.com. Membership right is at 38 and counting. Johnny, do you think it is a good idea to put out a feeler in my weekly email on Friday???

Holy crap. When they were 2nd Division i think it was 50 pounds or something. Yeah, i think it'd be a good idea, but you're looking at abotu $20 per person as of right now to sponsor a player to reach that $700.

This will probably be a better idea for next season when we get some more people involved.

now do we sponsor McBride or Boca. My vote would be for Boca

This is one of the 1st main goals of FulhamUSA, to sponsor a player. I have asked the official MB's and they said it is around 350 pounds, which translates into (because of a very week American dollar) $630.

There are alot of benefits that come along with sponsoring a player and advertising is just one of them.
    Tom,
I say we keep the website launch of the first week of december and I'll add in a paypal donation link as well as a whole page dedicated to the details of sponsoring a player. Also, this would make a great poll on the site!! What player to sponsor.

I agree with Mike and I agree with Johnny. It may be tough to come up with the loot this year for a player sponsor. However, I am going to mention it to everyone this week in the email to see where people stand on it. Also, I do think it is a good web poll for Fulham USA.

Mcbride is 32 Boca is 25. Mcbride is on the bench Boca starts. Well really sponser Boca but, Mcbride did score the only goal in the 98 WC and he scored the first goal in the Mexico match in 2002. All of that said i would sponser Mcbride. Why? Because he scored the game winner against Mexico in 2002.

If we're going to sponsor next year there is strong chance McBride won't be around. My guess is he'll do one last go round in MLS. He's one of my all-time favorites but that's reality. I'm good for $20 to help sponsor Boca whenever we do it.

I was basically saying that Boca should be around for another 2 or 3 years and it would be better to sponser Boca. But, I would sponser Mcbride because he has helped the US the most and of course got the game winner against Mexico.
