I'm singing the Brave Sir Robin song silently in my head now. "Here comes Brave Sir Kyle....he is not afraid to foul in many nasty ways..."
After not making the 18 for RSL's fiasco in Toronto, Acosta doesn't appear to be in the 18 for the Monarch's game either ... He must have really dug a hole for himself.
So this isn't just because he was playing pickup soccer with friends (or even club/rec soccer), is it? I don't really understand what is going on.
Season stats as of 3/31 we are tied for first in giving up the most goals: 9 now for something positive: as of now, we have not scored the fewest goal but we are tied for second in scoring 4 and that is with Portland who I am sure have scored more from the run of play than we have. The title of least is the Sounders who have yet to score a goal this season , but they looked better down a man then we have looked this entire season /Positivity over if that is any positivity We are tied with both of these teams for a GD of -5. It is still early,I hope the team can still gel by game 10. If we do choose to make a trade within the league (theoretically speaking) who is marketable enough to get decent value for to make a difference?
Some of them are fairly young and new to the team so we don’t want to market them imo. That leaves Rimando, LSilva, Plata and, possibly, KB5. Otherwise, to be up front, I’m not a big on Lennon’s contributory future with RSL and maybe he should be on the list too.
Just kinda thinking out loud here... In the past there were many creative blogs about RSL and it was fun to go between them and read different opinions about the club. Today, unless I am just not aware, there's nothing out there to divide my time when it comes to RSL. BigSoccer is one of only a few places I check to get my RSL fix, and there's just not a lot going on lately, largely do to the success (or lack thereof), I'm certain. That being said... sometimes I long for the days when I had a ton of RSL stuff to read. It seemed there was more excitement among fans at the time. There also wasn't a lot of "official" content out back then, so I'm sure that's why people were blogging more. I don't really know what I'm babbling about... I just want more stuff to read, not necessarily from official sources. I want more opinions, more pictures, more information about the players themselves and more fan content. Something original that's rough around the edges that speaks loudly to the fan base and keeps us interested, especially while enduring embratsu.
I’ve long felt our social media game, at the club level, doesn’t match our aspirations as a organization. We’re social media poor and investment heavy. I’m not sure if the club has made a concerted effort to redirect dollars to development, but a better social media manager and hype calendar would help the club. For example, NYCFC did a 4on4 tournament with club legends and local celebrities the week before their first home game. We could easily do something like that, all of the posts just generate interest and volume of hype around the team. I know that doesn’t impact our RSL ecosystem commentary, but more volume for the club would help drive volume in the overall commentary game I believe.
I have a lot of things in the works right now as far as RSL stuff is concerned. I think we all what Boz mentioned. No one is doing it so I thought I would see what I could do. I've been working on a couple of projects to expand the RSL Show from one show to 3 -- just started the Royals show and would love to have a Monarchs show. We're working on video content as well as more "fun stuff" to get fans more cool stuff to fill the space between work or whatever. It's complicated and takes a lot of time. Sadly not a lot of people are up for doing the amount of work that's required with the reward being just the satisfaction of doing it. So yeah, keep an eye out.
I understand how thankless the efforts taken to bring in solid content can be. Being part of a website that was deleted by Google because there were far too many fragile minds around here when RSL first got going, and after a few complaints, Google's heavy-handed approach destroyed content from dozens of contributors over the course of a few years. I'm not trying to bring up old shit, but I've been through the ringer more than once, so any efforts by anyone to do anything for RSL fans is a major bonus and I'm truly thankful for it. I wish you well.
I would not be shocked to learn that some of the complaints originated with persons associated with the organization.
So I'm on the bus this morning and I see this post and I think, "I'm not your monkey. I'm not going to start that thread just because some rando requested it." But then I started the thread anyway because the bus is boring and I'm insecure and am starved for attention and approval. And then I waited all day for you to see it and comment on it and show some damn gratitude (or at least acknowledgement). But nothing. 12 hours later. We'll, that's it, sir. You can expect no more favors from this monkey. Good day.
Apologies for not acknowledging your thread Thanks Was crazy busy during the day. Will buy you a beer if you run into me at the game. Sect 28 row t 25
Anyone know how badly Acosta was hurt in the Monarchs game? Looks like he got the start but had to be subbed off early due to an injury. Sparrow, Herrera, and Besler also started. Brody came on for Herrera and Hernandez came on for Velasquez in the 2nd half. (for those of you tracking RSL development with the Monarchs)
Maybe not too badly - @TheCrossbar writes: RSL’s full back setup gets interesting with Phillips injury, Acosta sub with Monarchs
