To tell the truth, I didn't really care about Zlatan but boy what a game and debut. His second goal was more impressive as he read the offsides and put himself back into play to score the winner. That magic should never happen this year if they were relegated. With the youth movement of the league, I guess there is still room for an established star, even though I thought it's time had passed. But a big sellout and an expansion 3.0 team made for a successful debut on national television. Had to be in the top ten games of MLS all time in terms of drama.

Between the Dallas Cup finals and the six U17 Generation adidas Cup matches (4 semifinals, two finals) played there, the field at Toyota Stadium is in absolutely awesome condition. I didn't see any of the Dallas Cup action (but I could hear it emanating from the stadium while I was out on the outer fields) as I was there for GA Cup - and did shoot those six games on the main field. The grounds crew there is rocking it.

Yea....the pulse is fine. It's not the player, it's the move to the league I'm talking about. I'm more fascinated with young up and coming players growing the league now. The influx of homegrown talent is also more interesting to me, especially when they are teenagers. I get Zlatan is special but when I see Alphonso Davies play it's more interesting to me. The skill he shows for a 17 year old is exciting knowing a decade ago this would have been a rarity in MLS instead of part the new normal. Look around the league and there is more to be excited for than an older star player finishing out his career. I watch MLS games because I enjoy the league and hardly watch any other foreign soccer. I now find it more compelling to see if MLS can catch Liga MX than what star player from Europe will sign with the league to finish his career. That being said, that game had a lot to appreciate and Zlatan lived up to the hype he deserves.
for LAG to get the Z for a paltry $1.5 mill US is a mystery- he should be in the range of giovinco and villa methinks there has to be other attachments beyond the salary- we can only speculate what they might be, but i dont think the contract stops at $1.5 mill

MLSMultiplex(where I am trying my hand) and Copa90 started a partnership today. Copa90 docs are pretty good.
That is what it means. There is also no beat reporter for the Fire in the Chicago Tribune. A contract guy has written a few stories here and there, but Sunday's sports section literally had no more than a AP blurb about their Saturday game in Minnesota.
I watch Zlatan knowing that in a decade, there still will not be an equal. Same as Zidane and Ronaldinho. I am all for young players. But when graced with a presence like Zlatan.... https://mlsmultiplex.com/2018/03/24/usmnt-eligible-youth-analysing-mls-eastern-conference-options/
