You guys thinks Santos will put out our "best" available starting line-up vs the Dutch or just give minutes to non-starters?

I think he starts out with a pretty strong line up, but will incorporate more subs earlier and more often.

    starting line up

    -------------------CR7------A.Silva
    -Guedes----J.Mario---M.Fernandes---B.Silva
    -Rui------------Alves-------Fonte--------Cedric
    ------------------------Patricio

    Gelson
    B.Fernandes
    Cancelo
    Adrien

all likely to get more significant time.

Great starting line-up if that's the case... If only Joao Mario could get back to his top form. It's a shame really... He's got such potential.

Ugh... Rolando and Fonte as the starting CBs... I get the heebie-jeebies thinking about that one.

Oh my word... Our defense is just ATROCIOUS. Fonte, Rolando... all crap on that play.

We are going to desperately need Pepe to be in HUGE form in the World Cup.

This dutch team sucks major donkey balls... We should win this game, hands down but this starting line up is just atrocious so far.

If we're gonna play Ronaldo, we might as well strengthen the midfield a little more? Do we want to win this game or is this just practice... Come on, man!

Why put Ruben Dias on the team if he's not going to start either match? I assume he'll get into this one at halftime, but the next time Portugal plays it'll be late May and it'll be time to stop messing around and being ready for the WC.

This display is abysmal... Losing simple passes everywhere, it's kinda scary. The Dutch aren't any better either. What a sh*t show at the moment...

Ruben Dias is injured and is not with the team, which is why he has not played and WONT play a single minute during todays game

All these set of friendlies have told me, is Portugal is going to be the same Portugal as we saw during Euro 2016. A defensive based counter attacking style team.

Bruma was not called up at all.
Gelson/Guedes have not started either match.

yet, we have Quaresma, who is going to be a role type player in the WC starting todays game.

How the fuc* do we start todays game with Quaresma as a forward.
    Adrien,Gomes,B.Fernandes,M.Fernandes running the midfield.

and as i say that.. 2-0 Holland... WTF..

I didn't realize Dias was injured in training.

Nice effort here, guys. I guess this shouldn't be surprising considering Portugal was also played off the pitch by a bunch of U.S. youngsters too.

the telling thing about this first half is how compact the Dutch are playing defensively. It’s making Cristiano come way back to get the ball.

Gotta have a plan B because Iran and Morocco will play this defensive style. Spain’s style actually suits Portugal as an opponent.

There's no reason at all for Quaresma to start. He's a great sub and a known commodity, but if he has to start WC matches Portugal is screwed.

It's painful to watch... It's like the coach decided to put all of our shittiest players all at once (except for the GOAT, of course).

I want to see us salvage this game somehow in the second half, that is NOT good for our confidence being so close to the World Cup.

I'm not really worried about confidence, I'd almost prefer Portugal to start group play without too big of a head. But I feel like these two matches have been a waste. Okay, great, Rolando gets to play two matches, Mario Rui gets a shot...and all attacking guys I'd like to see play 60-plus minutes in a match are sitting on the bench (or not even on the squad).

I hear ya... but still, they almost just scored a 3rd goal. This ain't good. Feels like I'm watching a Sunday's league.

Let's hope for lots of changes in the 2nd half and for us to at least score a goal or tie it up. We're the defending champs and we should play like it.

Yup! If they are going to play this bad just take Ronaldo out of the game. No need to risk him getting injured.
