LAG receive Zlatan and Fire Season Ticket Holders are "allowed" to BUY a Bastian Schweinsteiger bobblehead for $20.00 (with an "exclusive discount").
Model Business Practices. Zlatan may suck, but the attention he brings is worth something. Especially when LAG seems to be the 2nd team in LA.
I posted this on the MLSSoccer.com site in response to the article about the "slow start" for Portland and Chicago: --- All you need to ask about Chicago is whether Andrew Hauptman is still the owner. Until that changes, the team will be as good as league money alone makes it...which means wooden spoon contender. Last season was an outlier, as the Fire spent all of its TAM/GAM (less than it could have been, BTW, since Nelson Rodriguez is an incompetent that regularly gets fleeced on transfers), and it's widely rumored that the league picked up Schweinsteiger's pay for that first season. Now that there's no (or less) league money for Schweiny, and the TAM/GAM coffers are empty. Rodriguez traded Accam so they could pay for Schweinsteiger without Hauptman spending any of his own money, and the rest of the roster will be absolute dollar menu minimum. This has been standard operating procedure since Hauptman took over in 2007, and is 100% the reason why a former flagship club for MLS has sunk below the horizon. Nothing will change until there's new ownership. For those who might wish to gloat, consider this: Hauptman, a vulture capitalist, is dragging down valuations overall by investing zero in Chicago, the league's 3rd largest market. The Fire (or more precisely, the Chicago market), however, rises in value as other markets with actual, invested owners (Cascadia, Atlanta, LAFC, etc.) raise the overall values. He's enriching himself at everyone's expense, treats the Fire STHs and fanbase like sh_t on his shoes, and laughs all the way to the bank. Cohiba Don needs to get off his dead arse and rid the league of this turd. Instead, he seems to be collaborating with the douchebag owner of Columbus to force a move to Austin, a city that has shown no actual interest in the Crew. Dump Don, and the rest of these vultures.
I'll be shocked if he sucks. He's never sucked at anything in his life. Paradoxically, he's even great at sucking...
