Our 19 y.o. Midfielder starts and goes 90 on a BL squad in a Champions League spot and there’s no discussion after?

    Life must be good...

The game was shitty, McKennie didn't stand out (no one did except Caligiuri for about 15 seconds). McKennie did play as a wingback for a while though which was interesting.

He’s played plenty of games this year, and the lack of WC has sapped our interest.

Also there was a pretty solid game day thread.

Some of us actually work for a living and don't steal from our employer by watching midweek games and posting on the internet.

    Here’s a quality full replay: https://www.fullmatchreplay.com/replay.php?match=335926

Love that he started and went a full 90, up a goal away. Huge trust from coach. Hated the switch to RB but that was due to injury fill in.

WAs I the only one nervous seeing him lined up against Nigel....you know who. Major flashbacks.

Defensively: He was so disruptive, strong in every tackle, closing down lanes, and winning tons of balls. Highly active but didn’t find him out of control.

Offensively: half the time was his super quick one touch, calm as could be in tight spaces. Very impressed with his abilities there. The other half of the time he was slow to move the ball, resulting in a few turnovers.

Overall, love watching this kid in the midfield for the #2 team in the BL.

For those that don't know, @y-lee-coyote is a product rep for the notoriously demanding ACME Inc. He puts in long hours, often working alone in extremely challenging conditions. Catching road runners is difficult at any time but they're easiest to catch at night due to their poor night vision and propensity to sleep more deeply than other birds. :)

It seems like playing c-mids at wing back is not that unusual in German soccer. I'm pretty sure the German national team had Gundogan and Can play wing back roles against France in the friendly last November. It makes sense when c-mid is pretty consistently the best and deepest position for German teams, while finding good natural fullbacks is always a challenge.

I’m sure going 90 as hard as McKennie does plays hell on a body that has been recuperating from injury. He’s a tough kid, I hope we see him at least a little this weekend.

Even if it’s a muscle problem, let him rest.. depending on the grade of strain it can take a week to a couple weeks. But then again they haven’t said the severity of it... Better safe than sorry.

seems like he missed training today and is unlikely to make the squad tomorrow. Issues might be because of strain

As much as I enjoy watching, his return seemed pretty hasty. So did the moving him around to different positions to get his legs back.

Weston take your time mate... Lets make this a long career.

I don't think it is off topic to mention here that I would like to see him NOT called up for Paraguay game so he can continue getting rehab.
