Assuming we advance against Colorado, I wonder how many of our big guns will be held back for this game in preparation for the second round of the CCL.

I think you will might see a couple players rested but I think Vanny with play pretty strong line up come the weekend. Maybe something like

    ----------------------Bono----------------------
    Auro-----Mavinga-----Moor------Morrow
    -------------------Bradley---------------------
    ---------Hasler------------Delgado--------
    -------------------Vazquez------------------
    ----------Giovinco--------Hamilton-------

    For CLB: Irwin; Morrow-Mavinga-Moor-VdWiel; Bradley; Delgado-Vazquez-Hasler; Giovinco-Hamilton

    For Tigres: Bono; Morrow-Mavinga-Moor-VdWiel; Bradley; Osorio-Vazquez-Aketxe; Giovinco-Altidore

Get VdW his first minutes, even start him if possible, let Aketxe come on around HT, rotate some of the midfielders, get Irwin minutes, rest Jozy if he's injured. Then in the CCL leg, go with what based on form looks like our strongest team, minus VdW who may be preferred to Auro if he doesn't impress. Or just idk, do whetever

Potential trap game here. You get the feeling that the players are looking ahead to Tigres and forgetting that Columbus will be extremely motivated to win this one.

Does MLS still do that thing where the reigning MLS champions use a different coloured ball (gold or silver, if I remember correctly) for all their home games?

Haven't seen anything on that, but I do know that MLS has a new match ball this season.

The bad news is that this was just not TFC's day. They didn't defend well. They missed chances. They had trouble getting the offence going.

The good news is that it looks like there is a LOT of talent on this team and once they get going I can't imagine we're going to see too many games like this.

I think we combo of playing a Crew side who looked motivated while seem like we are looking ahead to CCL mid-week though hope we play better mid-week than last couple of home games or we are going to be spanked

Well beaten on the day by a very good looking side who seemed more convinced by, and confident in, their tactics on the day.

Our side gave the impression they could still be playing and not have scored....falls into one of those "just one of those days".

The only really disappointing thing is that Seba chose to call out the club after the match.

Assuming this is referring to him being unhappy about the trophies celebration at the start of the game and how the players let themselves got caught up in them, he's got a point. Plus this group of players has proven in the past they aren't afraid to lay into each other if things aren't right, so I doubt they'll be thrown off by some valid criticism that was aimed at the group in general, and which I'm sure he voiced in private anyway

Did he even do anything relating to that this weekend other than post a couple instagram pictures? Besides, that doesn't have anything to do with TFC this season or last. None of the players, not even Seba, would have been thinking about a little side venture during a game

Let’s be clear, I don’t think the trophies or the Seba Things clothing launch had anything to do with the loss.

I just think it is a shitty thing to call out the club for doing something to detract from the team focus on winning when you yourself are choosing a few hours before kickoff as the time to launch your clothing line. The correct thing to do was keep your mouth shut.

I'm sure his team launched his clothing line. I can't imagine he had anything to do with the launch on game day. The people behind the scenes usually work around the clock to get these things ready on time.

And for someone who's won what he has in this league, to see him frustrated over losing game #1 of the season is great to see. I like that he's not resting on his laurels. He should never "keep his mouth shut".

Agree to disagree then. I think he can do what he wants in his free time and I like that he gave a specific answer to a question instead of the usual general cliched responses athletes give

    It's a non-story. Fake news from a bitter troll.
