For whatever reason, I had been getting my in market games... I really hope that continues. I fear that party might be over.
I watch condensed games on the MLB package. It's awesome as you can see an entire game in 15-17 minutes. They only show the pitch that results in a play and there are no announcers.
You're the only one. The Rapids/Altitude have been pretty heavy-handed on the blackout rules. Of course Altitude is so behind the times they have no streaming or OTA option. So the only (legal) way to watch Rapids games in Denver is to have a cable/satellite package.
That is really crazy considering how much real time a baseball game takes. Slowest sport in America. If a real game took 30 minutes I could possible watch it.
According to the Extra Time podcast, they said that until ESPN+ launches, MLS Live will be available for free in the usual places, and on the usual devices like Roku and AppleTV.
How many times have you been completely wrong, in this thread alone, and how many more will be needed before you're so cocksure about things?
Tell me how I am wrong? The CEO of Disney says in the interview that espn+ will not offer access to espn networks. He says specifically cable subscription to the networks will still be required. So is he wrong?
I'm watching basketball on ESPN3 and ESPN is already made some commercials for MLS "our soccer" at the end of the commercials they have and ESPN+ logo. I'm looking forward to this!
On second look it was some kind of a ESPN streaming logo... I don't really know my ESPN logos it could be The Ocho for all I know.
Yes but the logo he is talking about is simply an "e" with the word "streaming live". The logo has been around since before espn+ was talked about. I saw the commercial he is referring to several times last night also.
This piece may be of interest to some: http://awfulannouncing.com/espn/espn-plus-mls-rights-mls-live.html The upcoming ESPN Plus over-the-top streaming service just made a major content acquisition. That would be the exclusive out-of-market rights to Major League Soccer games, which were previously available through the league’s own MLS Live service. Now, as Bloomberg’s Scott Soshnick and Christopher Palmeri write, it appears that MLS is shutting down that in-house service and transferring those games to ESPN Plus, and MLS fans will actually be able to access that content (plus everything else on the new service) at a cheaper price: I find some of the piece somewhat ambiguous and I wonder is the statement that matches will be available for free on the MLS website until the service launches includes the apps on devices like Roku. This raises about as many questions as it answers.
How old is this article? As cited up this thread a ways, MLS announced this on February 14. I would question lots of things about this article.
In the current world view I guess it is. But just 20 years ago it would be a current event and 60 years ago (When, living in Texas, I first discovered football had more than one meaning.) it could have been almost breaking news. Everything is retaliative and I just found that article when trying to find out why my MLS Live subscription had not come up for renewal. So the news is brand new, for me.
The MLS app just downloaded an update for 2018 for both my phone and iPad. It has links for all of the games this weekend with the exception of the LAFC vs. Seattle game. It appears that the games might be available via the MLS Live app at least to start the season. I guess that the lack of a link for the LAFC vs. Seattle game means that game will be available through the WatchESPN app. We'll see how this all actually plays out.
The national broadcasts games were never available through the app, so the LAFC vs. Seattle game not being present makes sense.
That's what Wiebe said on the ETR Podcast last week. For free I believe, until ESPN+ is up and running.
Something is wrong with the update on my phone. It has Colorado listed on top of the West standings. @JasonMa, any idea how I can fix this?
