You want another player who repeatedly holds the ball too long and then tries unsuccessfully to pass through two or three opposing players thereby losing possession?

Another world-class player and upgrade to Beitashour.

The one question I have is why couldn't he crack the starting 11 at Cagliari?

I'd rather sign a pure 6 than sign another Cooper. He was good off the bench in the second half of the 2016 and 2017 seasons but I'd rather give Chapman that role now. We need someone who can either be cover for Bradley or play beside him in a double pivot.

You cut off my quote before I specified I wanted a player for Concacaf antics. If nothing else, Cooper is good at killing games and being a prick to play against and with him gone we don't have anyone on the roster who can specialize in that (mayybe Osorio can do that job). That said, I agree with adrenaline that we need depth at CDM so if we can get a Central American CDM/CM to cover for Bradley and do CONCACAF bs I'd be happy

Imo the biggest loss this off-season isn't copper or Edwards, but Cheyrou retiring. He's the only player who could come within a country mile of filing in for Bradley. A 6 to back up Bradley is a must, but we'd be better off getting someone in the Cheyrou mold who can play in the first XI as an 8, but move back to the 6 hole when Bradley is out

That is the most MLS type trade ever. I guess we need the Garber bucks to help sign a player or two (hoping for CDM and CM)

Speculation is they needed GAM as opposed to TAM to re-sign a couple of players and still be cap compliant (Hernandez and Endoh)

Yeah we don't really need big money player as much as depth players to fill out the squad hence why the move makes sense.

Interesting move I would figure that holes in our side now are bodies to play CB/CM/CDM and we just signed a RB/RWB a week before but I guess maybe be seen as a replacement for Edwards if Vanny doesn't mind playing wide players on their off wing.

Although so have many of our closest competitors. Should be a fun year to watch.

We still have the upper hand via continuity. We've upgraded all the weakest positions on the pitch without losing key players. Basically replaced Beitashour with VDW/Auro and on paper pushed Osorio/Delgado down to depth rolls with Auro/Aketxe. And Both Delgado and Osorio have played their best games when fighting for playing time, so more competition for midfield spots will likely improve everyone's play. Looking at the roster now, I don't see any areas of the first XI that don't have an all-star level or potentially all-star level player

Take one look at his highlights and it's easy to see why he was brought in. - he's a threat to score from outside the box. You saw teams bunker against us with some success last year (DC United away comes to mind) and with Aketxe now, it gives us a tool to help draw defenders out.

Left footed set piece specialist to boot. Him and Giovinco could be a lethal 1-2 punch from free kicks. At the very least having the option of a left footed shooter should open things up more for Giovinco

Good news, given how thin our back line is currently.

Many teams in the league would love to have that thin a back line. :)
