Zidane's campaign last year, many were last minute wins with Ramos playing a huge hand or Keylor saving their butts. It was a matter of time.

Ramos es un crack. I know he has plenty of haters but guys like him, Puyol, Yepes, Bermudez, Medel, etc. have/had so much character that they do so much more than defend....That being said CR7 has won a ton for RM.

Many more to judge for RM demise this season --Benzema, Bale, Asensio, etc but above all Zidane + FP should bear the brunt of the blame...

Not blaming CR7 for this season’s circus. Just saying that people who idolize him forgets that he has had stronger support than most super stars in club football history.

Bayern looks so lost without James in the lineup.

The ball movement for the Lewa goal was nice though.

I hope James gives our defense a good scouting report on how to cover him when we face Poland

I think so. Even Müller is on the bench.

I assume it is a rest/rotation type of thing.

They have a bunch of games coming up the first couple weeks of February between the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League. It gets kind of congested.

The Bundesliga starts slow after the winter break - actually there is no need to give anybody a rest right now. But Heynckes tries to get everybody in the boat with him - and for the rest of the season they need everybody. That was the strength of the team in 12/13. A Wagner e.g. knows that he is not really Lewy's rival - but that he is needed to give Lewy rests in the busy weeks in March/April/May or maybe even as a game changer to be thrown in when results are needed. As this is same role Löw needs his type of striker for Germany - he keeps his good chances for the World Cup especially as the main assistants of the German team are Kimmich and Müller.

So it is a rotational type thing to get everyone on the same page and get everyone some playing time. Which in the long run can keep everyone fresh and in the team mentality of being able to step up when called upon.
